Just a heads up — our St. George’s Day lunch is this Sunday, 19th April, over at the Lyceum on Bridge Street, Port Sunlight.
A couple of things to bear in mind: please do wear your medals, and keep it smart — no jeans or T-shirts on the day.

R.G. Masters V.C. Commemoration Wednesday 22nd April

The RASC/RCT Association, Birkenhead Branch, will be sending a delegation to attend the R.G. Masters V.C. Commemoration ceremony.
If you would like to join us, please let us know as soon as possible so that transport arrangements can be made.
We will be led to the graveside of R.G. Masters V.C. by representatives from the Northwest Corps of Drums.
Our meeting point will be the Botanic Gardens Café on Bankfield Lane from 10:00. The café is a relaxed five‑minute walk from the site, and for this occasion, tea and coffee will be available at greatly reduced prices.

I had the honour of meeting Abel Seaman John Dennett in December 2024, at the hand over ceremony of the Star of Italy Standard.
A tribute is taking place tomorrow.

Grab a drink etc. I’ll start about 10.30am to talk about uncle johns life during WW2 then as we head to 11am thr last post and wreath laying will take place in the courtyard at uncle johns plaque.

On Wednesday, 8th April 2026, The RASC-RCT Association, Birkenhead Branch, is planning a sponsored camp out in aid of The Great Tommy Sleep Out.

So far we have Terry, Stu, Alan O, Brian, Martin, Neil, Ron, Terry. Phil in an administrative capacity, as well as several others, for whom we are awaiting confirmation.

The sleep out is taking place in the grounds of Chetwynd Barracks. We will be sleeping under the stars so we can raise money for veterans who are unfortunately living on the street.

All the funds raised go towards our former military brothers and sisters who are in less favourable conditions than we are.

Join us for a night under the stars, or should I say, The Great Tommy Sleep Out.
We are going to camp out for at least 1 night in the grounds of Chetwynd Barracks (tbc).
