Today we cooked Chicken Tikka Masala with brown rice for the learners. Once again, Amy and Sophie came along to help with the preparation, which was greatly appreciated.

There was plenty of positive and interactive conversation throughout the session, with everyone joining in and engaging with one another while preparing and enjoying the meal. The friendly atmosphere helped make the session enjoyable for everyone involved.

I was pleased with how the flavours turned out, and Aeron contributed by adding some extra spices, which enhanced the dish even further. The time slot continues to work well for the group, and the feedback was very positive, with people commenting on how tasty the meal was.

Overall, I feel this was one of the best versions of the dish we have made so far. It was great to see everyone taking part, enjoying the food, and sharing conversations together.

The meal provided a healthy balance of protein, carbohydrates, and flavour. The chicken offered a good source of protein, while the brown rice provided fibre and slow-release energy to help keep people feeling fuller for longer. The use of herbs and spices added flavour without relying on excessive salt, encouraging healthier eating choices. The session also supported wellbeing by bringing people together and there is something very special in there as an ingredient.

I hope to see everyone again next Tuesday for another meal that can help us to learn more about maintaining a healthy heart.

Thanks,

Chris

We are so grateful for all of your kind donations 💛

At the moment, we are running particularly low on summer clothing, especially T-shirts.

Our community members have said they'd happily rock a housecoat, but it's probably not quite the weather for that! ☀️

Any donations of summer wear would be hugely appreciated and would make a real difference.

Thank you for your continued support.

I had an amazing afternoon at Start-Yard Yard with Make. discussing Birkenhead Town Hall—its past, present, and potential future as a public space.

The workshop provided an opportunity for local organisations and residents to share their thoughts on the future of the Town Hall. We began with a walk to the building, where we were given a tour of its exterior. Many participants shared their personal connections to the Town Hall, while its history and architecture were discussed in depth.

It was fascinating to hear perspectives from people with a wide range of backgrounds, including town planners, architects, local historians, and community members with a strong interest in the building.

We then took part in a creative activity, producing mini magazines that captured our aspirations and ideas for the future of Birkenhead Town Hall. It was a fantastic way to reflect on the building's importance and imagine how it could continue to serve the community in the years ahead.

Keep your eyes peeled for future opportunities to get involved.
