We’re sorry for the delay in sharing our thoughts on the recent public conversations and uncertainty around trans rights and the EHRC guidance. Posts like this come directly from our MD, who is currently on adoption leave with a poorly babba, and we’ve taken a little longer than usual to make sure we responded with the care and attention this moment deserves.

To our trans community: we love you deeply, we stand with you fully, and you belong here exactly as you are.
We know this period has felt unsettling and exhausting for many trans and gender-questioning young people, especially as public debate around rights, dignity and inclusion continues. We want to be very clear that our values remain unchanged: we are committed to creating spaces where trans young people are safe, respected, believed, and celebrated.

You are a vital part of Comics Youth. Your creativity, courage, humour and honesty shape who we are, and we are endlessly grateful for every story, zine, comic and moment of trust you’ve shared with us.
We will continue to hold and build spaces where trans young people can exist freely and fully, with safety, joy and belonging at the centre.

Another two great Saturday sessions at Comics Youth!

🌊In Saturday Comics our 8-13 year olds designed characters inspired by weather and nature and used them to create their own tote bags

👾 And it was gaming galore in Here For The Nerds with our main activity of playing Mario Party being accompanied with two other board games being played. We actually had so much fun we forgot to take any photos...

We joined the 1million acts of hope campaign today and created art and zines about Hope at SCW today. At HFTN we made badges, played Scrabble and lots more creative drawing and story writing! Thanks for another fun weekend everyone!!

It's been a busy April at Comics Youth HQ! From field trips to our usual Saturday sessions, it's all been happening! Go check out the website for a blog with highlights from late March through to the end of April!

Saturday Comics workshop was busy and fun today we did self portraits and talked about our hopes for the world. Then we did some printing with playdoh.
I'm Here for the Nerds we had a focus on Ticket to ride and learned how to play alongside our usual crafty, creative goodness and a dash of Uno for good measure.

We are beyond proud of three of our young people, Soph, Kaitlyn and Rhys, who currently have their work displayed in the Everyman Theatre! 🎉

They were each asked to create a piece of art as a response to the Everyman's new show 'The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher', and just look at the incredible work they made! It was such a joy to see the show and celebrate these amazing young people last night!
