We would like to thank Lorraine at Wagtails for organising a Quiz on our behalf last night. To everyone who attended and made the evening such fun. Dave is the quiz master who sets the questions and somehow keeps the participants in order throughout the evening.
We raised £215.00 for which we will always be very grateful.

What a wonderful community we all live in. Last night Lorraine of Wagtails Cafe arranged a Quiz on our behalf. £203.00 was raised and we thank every single person who attended. We would like to thank Lorraine and all her staff, also Dave for all the work he put in as Quiz Master. We would also like a little shout out for our Dawn, who is so supportive of Birchington Man Shed and always available to give us a hand.

We would like to thank Paul at Festival Framing for all his help and support in designing and suppling our new banner and pop up display. He completed the project in very short time, with complete professionalism. Thank You.
We were able to purchase these with part of the funding received from Thanet Earth.

We answered a call to the school who needed a library book box. Just look what a fantastic job they did decorating it. Absolutely amazing. Well done. So happy to gift the box and who couldn’t resist taking a book from there.

Ladies@BirchingtonManShed met up yesterday for a craft afternoon making Tie Brooches. A great time was had by all. As usual we were so well looked after at The Veterans Centre. Here are just 3 examples of what was created.

We just wanted to say a really big thank you to everyone who came and supported us at our pitch at the Food and Garden Fair on Saturday. It was wonderful to meet so many residents of Birchington.
We had lots of sales, orders and people wanting to join us.
Thank you to Birchington CiC for inviting us to be there at such a successful event.

Ladies@Birchington Man Shed had a fantastic afternoon at The Veterans Centre creating Easter Wreaths and Bunnies. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it such an enjoyable afternoon.
We also thank the Veterans Centre for their hospitality and delicious cakes. Always so friendly and welcoming.

Our Community Champion for February was Birchington Man Shed , based out of the craft village in Quex Park.

We met John the Chairman, and his partner Penny, who covers the admin side of this wonderful initiative, along with some of the members of the shed who were busy turning wood into wonders!

'The ethos of the Man Shed emphasizes the importance of sharing knowledge. Our community-based space has been recognized for promoting positive health behaviours among men in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We offer opportunities for both men and women to engage in practical and social activities that foster social connections and support. Man Sheds are especially beneficial for older men, helping them maintain friendships, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging post-retirement.
As a member of the UK Man Shed Association, the Birchington Man Shed continues to evolve based on the preferences of its members, aiming to further integrate into the local community.'
