Everyone’s experience of cervical screening matters. Whether your appointment was positive, difficult, straightforward or delayed, your feedback can help shape better local services.

If you’ve ever missed an appointment because of fear, embarrassment, caring responsibilities, work commitments or difficulty getting an appointment, we want to hear from you too.

Today, we’re particularly inviting people who have delayed or avoided cervical screening, and those living in rural or underserved communities, to share their experiences.

By sharing your story with Healthwatch Bradford and District, you can help us understand what’s working and what needs to change so that everyone can access the care they need.

Did you know you can ask for support during cervical screening?
If you’re worried about having a smear test, you’re not alone. You can ask for adjustments to make your appointment more comfortable.

We want to hear from disabled people, autistic people, and those with long-term health conditions or learning disabilities.

Were reasonable adjustments offered? Did you feel your needs were understood? Tell Healthwatch Bradford and District about your experiences of accessing cervical screening, good or bad.

Who is cervical screening for?

Have you felt welcomed, respected and included when accessing cervical screening? Have you faced barriers or uncertainty? Share your experiences with us here: https://www.healthwatchbradford.co.uk/have-your-say

Cervical screening is offered to women and anyone with a cervix aged 25–64, including some trans men and non-binary people. If you have a cervix, you may still need screening even if your gender identity is different from the s*x you were assigned at birth.

We’d love to hear from LGBTQ+ communities, including trans men and non-binary people with a cervix.
