Thankyou to everyone who visited Bingley Camera Club's Photo Open Exhibition which ran over 9 days from 26th September to 4th October in Damart Mill, Bingley.
The public has spoken -we have a tie for the peoples' favourite in the Open Print category: Gillian Allinson with 'Courting Kestrels' and Andrew Sharp with 'Oh, Just There!'. Terry Robert's prints in 'Passing Seasons - Changes in the Same Landscape' being the favourite in the Body of Work category.
We had 961 visits, which blew us away, and so much positive feedback. Our members really enjoyed bringing the exhibition to you. We displayed nearly 300 prints from 55 of our members, gave 18 free workshops for our members and members of the public and Barry Pauling and Chris Duffy took over 30 portraits of visitors.
We thank Damart for letting us use the fabulous space and for their support, and Bradford Council's Shipley Area Committee Community Chest for a small grant that allowed us to build some wooden frames for displaying prints. These can be used over and over again by us and other community groups and local artists. And special thanks to all of our members who contributed to planning, setting up, making photos, giving workshops, hosting, spreading the word and taking the exhibition down.
