Today, on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we remember with gratitude and respect the courage, sacrifice, and determination of all those who took part in the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944. We honour the servicemen and women who fought for freedom, many of whom gave their lives far from home. Their bravery helped shape the future of Europe and secured the liberties we enjoy today. As we reflect on their sacrifice, we commit ourselves to preserving their memory and upholding the values for which they stood.
Lest we forget.
