Today, on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we remember with gratitude and respect the courage, sacrifice, and determination of all those who took part in the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944. We honour the servicemen and women who fought for freedom, many of whom gave their lives far from home. Their bravery helped shape the future of Europe and secured the liberties we enjoy today. As we reflect on their sacrifice, we commit ourselves to preserving their memory and upholding the values for which they stood.
Lest we forget.

Well now we've got our breath back, thank you to all who attended the 1940s Day!

It was an amazing day, the weather was wonderful, the Dakota did 3 passes, the bands/singers and dancers entertained, the vehicles and displays were fantastic and the markets fed, watered and indulged us.

Special thanks go to Fiona Campbell, Marie McCahery and Martin, The Sultans Of Swing Stevie Cruz and Elisha, Hayley J Walsh and Denis Turner for the superb entertainment. Also to all the vehicles and displays including Troubleshooters - Living History Group. Thanks to Josh, Anne, Tara and Holly at Bingley Arts Centre for the support and the markets and a big thank you to The Engine Room and Chivers Solicitors for our sponsorship.

And thanks to all of you who came and dressed up, joined in and made our day. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
