Millie & Winston had an afternoon of human company today, 18 of our volunteers got together for a summer bbq at the yard! A very enjoyable time was had, good food eaten, sun shone nicely… eventually!

Volunteers' Week 2025 is here. 🎉

A week for us to celebrate the millions that make a difference to our society, shining a light on the power of kindness, generosity, and community spirit.

In 2024, 14.2 million people in the UK formally volunteered at least once a month, with an additional 25 million taking part in informal acts of kindness, from helping neighbours to organising local events.

Together, these efforts contributed an estimated £4.6 billion in productivity gains to the UK economy in 2024.

We can't wait to see what you're all doing to celebrate. Don't forget to tag and let's work together to thank more volunteers than ever before.

Hello, I would just like to introduce myself as the newest kid on the block. I am Winston but you can call me Winnie. I have spent months working with the lovely coaches and volunteers of SLRDA and yesterday was a big day for me.

While others are busy doing GCSE’s and A-Levels, I took my RDA Driving assessment yesterday, and PASSED! I only had one minor issue according to the nice assessor - that I couldn’t be cloned! I am one happy boy and can’t wait to get started as a fully-fledged RDA equine.

Exciting news! Louise started her carriage driving with us and is now a member of the team GB para driving squad! We are so proud of what she has achieved with her gorgeous Dartmoor pony Cheetah 🥳

Who was listening to BBC Somerset at around 11:25 this morning? Our wonderful driving group organiser, Ann, was interviewed about our group!

We are still looking for volunteers to:

• Assist at our driving sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Support our much needed fundraising efforts
