Today we celebrated early for two very special ladies, our wonderful Gina and Granny Val, ahead of their birthdays! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚

We enjoyed a fantastic family lunch at the Wellington Inn Wolviston, and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was outstanding, and the whole experience was warm, welcoming, and full of laughter.

It was the perfect way to celebrate, creating special memories with family while raising a glass to two amazing birthday girls. πŸ₯‚❀️

A huge thank you to everyone at The Wellington for making our afternoon so enjoyable. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! βœ¨πŸ½οΈπŸŽ‰

Today in Seaton, we enjoyed a truly wonderful afternoon of friendship, support, laughter, and plenty of sunshine. With 7 amazing people and 2 four legged friends joining us, we walked for miles along the beautiful coastline, sharing conversations, encouragement, and companionship every step of the way.

To top it all off, we treated ourselves to a well earned cheeky dinner at the Surfside Restaurant & Takeaway, making the day even more special.

At Hope Cancer Support, we know that sometimes the simplest things fresh air, a friendly face, and a listening ear can make the biggest difference. Today's Walk & Talk was everything we hoped it would be and more.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our very first Walk & Talk such a success. The sun shone, the smiles were endless, and the positive feedback has already got us excited for the next one.

🌟 Plans are already underway for our next Walk & Talk next month, and we can't wait to welcome even more people along.

Together, we're building a supportive community where nobody has to face cancer alone. πŸ’™

🩸❀️ National Blood Donor Day ❀️🩸

Today is a day that means so much to me.

During my blood cancer treatment, I received over 100 units of blood and blood products. Those donations weren't just bags of blood, they were precious gifts from complete strangers that helped keep me alive, gave me strength to keep fighting, and quite simply saved my life.

Giving blood is something that runs through our family.

❀️ My mum was a blood donor until she had to retire from donating, giving an incredible 63 units.

❀️ My grandad, Albert, donated over 100 units throughout his lifetime.

❀️ Matty is a regular blood donor.

❀️ And now Ellis, at just 17 years old, has joined them and become a blood donor too.

I couldn't be prouder of every single one of them. They are all helping to save lives, just as blood donors once helped save mine.

Every donation has the power to give someone more time, more hope, more memories, and another chance at life.

So today, on National Blood Donor Day, I'd like to say a huge thank you to every blood donor past and present. You may never meet the people you've helped, but I can tell you from experience that your generosity changes lives.

And if a 17-year-old autistic lad can roll up his sleeve and do it, then maybe you can too. ❀️🩸

Well, what a week it has been! 🐱✨ Now that the cat is officially out of the bag, I'm delighted to share that from 22nd June I will be returning to Northern Cancer Voices as their new Operations and Engagement Officer for Teesside.

I am absolutely over the moon to be returning to an charity I love, working alongside a manager I adore, and a CIO whose leadership and vision I have always admired.

This role means so much to me, and I cannot wait to get started. I'm looking forward to connecting with communities, building relationships, and most importantly, amplifying the voices of people affected by cancer across the North East and North Cumbria, ensuring that lived experience helps shape and improve cancer services for everyone.

For those wondering, I will still be running Hope Cancer Support, and all of our support groups will continue as normal. Hope Cancer Support remains incredibly important to me, and I remain fully committed to supporting everyone who attends our groups and activities.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way. I'm excited to continue making a difference through both roles and to help ensure that the voices of people affected by cancer are heard loud and clear.

Here's to an exciting new chapter! πŸ’™βœ¨
