🎥 New for 2026 - Dementia Friendly Screenings 🎥

In 2026 we are introducing something very special. We will be launching a new season of relaxed film screenings designed for people living with dementia, along with their families and carers.

These screenings will take place every two months on a Sunday afternoon and will offer a calm, welcoming and supportive cinema experience, with familiar films, gentle lighting and plenty of kindness (and cake!)

We are finalising the details and will share more soon. If you would like to be the first to hear updates, please subscribe to our monthly newsletter:

If you know someone who might benefit from these screenings, please share this with them.

Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to be taking another step in making cinema accessible to everyone. ❤️

We've had such an amazing year - winning National Awards, screening our 200th film and celebrating 10 years of bringing films to Billericay - and donating almost £2,500 to local Billericay community groups and charities.

Thank you to all of our Volunteers, and to everyone who has come to watch a film with us.

Christmas has landed at Billericay Library and the trees are looking fabulous. For the tenth year running, our Volunteers have transformed the foyer into a festive forest of a dozen Christmas trees. And yes, Rudolf has sneaked back in. Can you spot him hiding among the branches?

THURSDAY NIGHTS - 2025’s "Scores on the Doors"!

From biopics and blockbusters to Hitchcock classics and festive chaos, our Thursday programme delivered another cracking year of cinema and now we can reveal how your scores stacked up.

One Life takes the crown with a perfect 10.0 as your favourite Thursday film of 2025. Emotional, powerful and unforgettable. Our audience gave it top marks, and Rotten Tomatoes agrees, putting it firmly in first place. "A moving film with wonderful acting. A story that needed to be told and remembered" said one of our guests.

Close behind on 9.8 was The Imitation Game with Conclave in third with 9.5. This slow burn thriller set in the Vatican sold out more rapidly than any film we’ve shown.

Two Hitchcock films completed the top 5 - whilst the wooden spoon goes to The Critic, finishing 11th

According to a recent poll, more people think Die Hard isn't a Christmas film than do. Our screening on Thursday proved it, with the anti-Die Hard-at-Christmas brigade triumphantly raising their hands.

However, this display might be in the wrong, but when Christmas lights look this good, who really cares?

THE SUNDAY MATINEE RESULTS ARE IN!

After a year of films, feedback forms and fierce debate over delicious cake, we can finally reveal your official 2025 Sunday Matinee League Table!

Sharing the crown as your Favourite Matinee Films of the Year: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Last Christmas both scored a creditable 9.7/10 with our audience.

Hot on their heels were Wonka and Sunshine on Leith with 9.5 - proving that chocolate makers and The Proclaimers can win hearts (and feet-tapping) in Billericay.

Your views don’t always match the critics as Rotten Tomatoes puts Wonka at the top and IMDb reckons A Streetcar Named Desire is cinema royalty… Our audience said “Nah, give us Judi Dench, Emilia Clarke, Hugh Grant and a shedload of cake.”

Joking aside, these votes are important because it helps us understand our audience and the types of films you want us to screen.

Thank you to everyone who voted. Thank you to everyone who watched. And thank you - as always - to the Volunteers who make cinema magic happen in Billericay.

Bolstered by over £70 of donations by guests taking home Jo's beautiful Christmas bottle lights we've a bumper pot of £755 being donated to our two Community Groups for the second half of the year - the Norsey Wood Society and the Mill Meadows Society.

In addition to our sponsorship of the Billericay Good Companions Club (which helps to alleviate social isolation), 50% of any money we make each half year is donated to local community groups and charities. Over 510 people at 9 screenings voted how the money should be split.
