Armstrong & Irwin Scouts visited Parliament yesterday, with a tour of the grounds, the House of Commons and House of Lords, as well as learning how to create a petition. It was a great day in London to see where government is run and laws are made.

To mark 110 years of Cubs, District volunteers are walking 55 miles between all the District Scout HQs. Biggleswade Cubs will be hiking part of the route, from Sandy HQ to Biggleswade HQ to help raise money for a new porch at Biggleswade Scout HQ.

Biggleswade Cubs will be walking between Sandy and Biggleswade HQs today. Please support them by donating to their cause, raising money for a new Porch at Biggleswade Scout HQ or 'The Hut' as it's fondly known.

Why are they doing this? It's the 110th birthday of Cubs and our District volunteers are completing a hike between all Scout HQs in the district. For each leg they will be joined by local Cubs fundraising for their own Group.

Our AGM was full of celebration (and burgers! 🍔)
including 5 years for Joe, 10 years for Faraz and 25 years for Gravey and Pete. Abigail was awarded Wood Badges & we raised money for our Jamboree team BedsWSJ raising £60 and having a great presentation! 🇵🇱 Finally, after over 10 years of service, Leigh has stepped down as our chairperson & we thank him for his support. Thanks to everyone who attended 🥳

Thanks to Biggleswade Community Safety Group and our Scout volunteers for clearing the alleyway down London Road. We also provided our HQ for refreshments and facilities to the team. What a massive difference it’s made to our local community. Speaking to a resident walking past, they were very impressed with the difference!! 😃⚜️

Can you "bring in the dough" supporting fundraising in the group? ⚜️💷

Biggleswade Scout Group are looking to recruit a new volunteer to research, co-ordinate and submit our requests for grant funding on a volunteer basis. We submit applications for funding throughout the year as required.
As a registered charity we rely heavily on monetary grants from the local community to help maintain and develop the Scout Group as well as our resources and assets.
We are looking for someone to research potential local grants and funding sources that the group is eligible for and facilitate the submission of completed applications for this funding as agreed by the Trustee Board.
