Biggleswade Womens Institute - WI Biggleswade WI Biggleswade W.I. is a social bunch of ladies, who enjoy each other’s company while listening to a wide variety of interesting speakers.

We meet every third Monday of the month in the Weatherly Centre at 10.30am for two hours. We also hold a number of different clubs, from Knit and Stitch, Ladies that Lunch, Singing Group, Walking Group, Workshops and Group Meetings, and Theatre Trips. For more information please message this page.

We meet on the third Monday of the month at the Weatherley Centre. The doors open at 9.50am for a 10.15am start and close at 12.15pm. We have a varied program of speakers. New members are always welcome to join us!

We have a singing group, knit and stitch group and lunch club. Theatre trips feature throughout the year and also group outings. Visitors are welcome to come and see what we are all about.

The Women's Institute (WI) is like Britain’s original girl gang — founded in 1915 to help with wartime food production, and quickly evolving into the ultimate powerhouse of jam, justice, and just-about-everything-else. Don't let the teacups and knitting needles fool you — these women have opinions sharper than their sewing scissors and voices louder than a village fête raffle draw. From debating national policy to baking the perfect scone (a more controversial topic than Brexit in some circles), the WI is where tradition meets sass, and where you'll learn life skills, make lifelong friends, and maybe accidentally join a campaign to save the bees. Basically, it's like Hogwarts for women, but with more chutney.
