Mixed voice choir of around 70 members based in Biggleswade. Rehearsals Tuesday evenings, 8pm at Trinity Methodist Church. What we do

We love singing.

In particular we aim to encourage the enjoyment of a wide range of choral singing for our members and our audiences in and around Biggleswade. We currently have about 70 members. We perform at least 3 concerts a year at various venues in the area including regular events at St Andrew’s Church in Biggleswade and Langford Village Hall. We often combine with other adult and junior choirs, soloists an

d instrumentalists both amateur and professional. We are a friendly and active society and organise fund raising and varied social events for the enjoyment of members and guests. Community events include singing at Biggleswade’s Christmas Lights Switch-On and carol singing at local venues. Our sort of music

Very varied. We sing classical and modern music, often religious works but with at least one concert a year of ‘lighter’ music. Membership

New members are always welcome. You need to be 16 years or older to join. No audition is required. Full membership costs £80 per year, payable in two stages of £40 each in September and January. Membership is FREE to students in full-time education. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings during school terms from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Shortmead St, Biggleswade. Leaving only a few minutes to cheer our Spring Concert (very well, thank you for asking), we are now looking forward to the next. This is a celebration of English and American music to welcome some anniversary or other that is taking place about now. If you can't join the King in the White House, put this in your diary!

This Saturday!

If you take the Biggleswade Chronicle (if not, why not?), you will have noticed that the time of this wonderful concert is incorrectly reported as being 7.30pm. This is wrong - it is 7pm. If you arrive at 7.30, you will miss the thrilling opening chorus, the arrest of Jesus and the whole Peter and the c**k crowing thrice scenes. You do not want to do this! Turn up on time.

Only three weeks to go - lots of excitement in rehearsals! Make sure this is in your diary - no better way to do so than by buying tickets online!! Potton Hall for All, remember.

Our next concert is perhaps our most challenging and exciting. Bach's St John Passion, orchestra, great soloists. It will be a fabulous evening at the Potton Hall for All - make sure you book your tickets early!

Hugely exciting - we are performing this great work at Easter. We start rehearsing on 6th January at 7.30 pm at Trinity Methodist Church in Biggleswade. We hope to see you there!

Our happy soloist, Alison Chambers and accompanist, Anne Wright with flowers from our favourite florist in Biggleswade, Skipps Florists. Many thanks to them! Wonderful concert with a fine audience. Now looking forward to our next great adventure - Bach's St John Passion. Rehearsals start on Tuesday 6th January. Very exciting!

So, a diary update. Christmas Day is on 25th December this year which is a Thursday. Lots of excitement building up from the beginning of the week, seeing friends, family, children and grandchildren, getting the presents ready, the meals - all prepared and planned perfectly. What is the best way of starting that week? Of calmly getting in the mood, perhaps with a mince pie and a glass of wine? Hint below.
