2427 Biggin Hill Squadron ATC

2427 Biggin Hill Squadron ATC Keep up to date on the activities and achievements of this Air Cadet Squadron.

2427 (Biggin Hill) Squadron is part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (also know as the Air Training Corps). We meet twice a week at our Headquarters within the RAF Enclave, Main Road, Biggin Hill, where cadets take part in training that is useful in both service and civilian life. An interest in aviation is alway helpful for prospective cadets, but our training programme is far wider than aviatio

n alone. The Squadron is very proud of its heritage and being based from one of the most recognised Battle of Britain Royal Air Force Stations.

🎉 PROMOTION 🎉
Congratulations to Cadet Warrant Officer Nevard on her well-deserved promotion!
Following a successful interview in February with the Sector Commander, Deputy Sector Commander and Deputy Wing Warrant Officer, CWO Nevard was highly recommended for promotion. This achievement is a testament to her consistent hard work, dedication both on and off squadron and her ability to inspire fellow cadets.

Throughout her cadet career, CWO Nevard has been an outstanding role model, demonstrating leadership, commitment and professionalism at every stage. This prestigious role is thoroughly deserved.

We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make in supporting the Wing and Corps in the years ahead. 👏✨

JNCO & SNCO Development

This weekend five of our cadets, joined Cadet NCOs from across Kent Wing at Ditton Army Reserve Centre to undertake the Junior NCO & Senior NCO Course.
The aim of the course was to deliver standardised NCO development training to up to 90 cadets, helping them build the skills and confidence expected of junior and senior non-commissioned officers.
Throughout the weekend, cadets developed their understanding of leadership, management, communication, and cadet welfare. They also gained valuable practical experience, including controlling a squad for drill, learning basic drill instructional techniques, and completing leadership exercises.
A fantastic weekend of learning, teamwork, and personal development – well done to;
Sgt Penny J, Sgt Coombs, Sgt Burnard, Cpl Daldorph & Cpl Kirk who completed the course successfully.
Thank you to all the staff who made this weekend possible including FS Nevard who was part of the staff team.

Gold Musician and Blue Road marching

We’ve recently been delighted to award badges that we don’t see very often.

Cdt Nevard was awarded Gold musician, the pinnacle of the progressive music training programme when she represented at the Lady Mayor’s Show in London in November after training with the LASER and Kent Wing bands playing the bass drum.
Our continued thanks to CI Brenchley who started our band in 2021 which is going from strength to strength.

Cdts Shulepko and Aduaka joined nearly 80 cadets from across last weekend to take part in the Blue Road Marching weekend. Blue Road marching consists of theory and practical sessions. The theory section covers the basics of road marching drill, how to say safe, nutrition, hydration and the correct kit carry. The practical sessions involved two marches to put everything they had learned during the theory lessons into practise and consisted of a 12 kilometre and 15 kilometre march. Congratulations to our cadets who completed this course and were awarded their Blue Road Marching badges.
