Cash Access UK has opened a Cash Hub at Peterculter Parish Church. This cash hub represents an important addition to the local community, providing continued access to cash services, available Mon-Fri 9am-5pm for all members of UK High Street Banks all within a single shared space. It has been developed to ensure residents and businesses can continue to access face-to-face cash services conveniently within the village centre. It will also be of interest to Milltimber residents.

We are hearing unofficial comment that this may be a 6-month trial either to decide if it is worth keeping, or hopefully whether to upgrade it to a full Banking Hub. Either way, if you would welcome this sort of facility please make use of it!

We haven't lost hope that Cash Access UK will recognise the value of such a facility for Cults.

You may have noticed some posters on the Deeside Way for a survey by a local student of how we use the Deeside Way. It is very easy to complete quickly and will hopefully provide useful information, so I would encourage you to take a look at it. It can be accessed by a QR code on the poster but if you are not up to that you may find it useful to open it in your internet browser at:

There will be a Prohibition of Driving on School Road, Cults from a point 24 meters or thereby from its junction with North Deeside Road to a point 27 meters or thereby from its junction with South Avenue. This restriction will be in place from 09:00 on the 30th of June 2026 to 06:00 on the 1st of July 2026. This measure is necessary to protect the workforce and public during ironwork renewals carried out by Idverde on behalf of Scottish Water.

Following a number of recent incidents involving young people riding e-scooters, Police Scotland are appealing to parents to stop allowing their children to endanger themselves and others.

Although these vehicles can be legally purchased in Scotland, they are illegal to ride on public roads, pavements and other public places. They can only lawfully be used on private land with the landowner’s permission.

Officers are urging parents and carers to consider the dangers of e-scooters and remember that anyone purchasing one has a responsibility to be aware of the law and implications.

Enforcement action can be taken against the rider and those who purchase these machines. Police can lawfully seize e-scooters when used illegally, whilst parents can be held responsible, leading to fines and points in their own licence.

Sergeant Mark Rennie said: “The legalisation surrounding e-scooter use exists to protect the public and is especially important because younger children do not yet have the judgement, coordination, or hazard awareness these devices require.

“This isn’t about being strict or unfair – it’s about understanding the risk.

“Aberdeen Community Policing Teams have been taking opportunities to engage with children when encountered on such scooters, however this is having little impact and we urge parents to please take action.”
