Making Bideford the Little Green Town

Making Bideford the Little Green Town Little Green Town is a community gardening project working to turn Bideford into an edible paradise!

Volunteers from across the community have been working hard transforming unused spaces in our town. We have planted vegetables, fruit bushes, herbs, apple trees and more! The produce is all free to pick, so please do help yourself! We would love to hear you if you would like to come and get involved, you don't need to be a gardener, everyone is welcome! Our beds have been enjoyed by the local wild

life too, an array of bumble bees enjoy the flowers, Painted Lady butterflies have visited, we even have a resident Robin who often joins us for our gardening sessions!

Thanks team! We had a wonderful evening planting over 260 wildflower plant plugs in a new meadow area in old town park. This is a collaborative project with Torridge Growing Together with thanks to funding through the Grow Wild fund! It was great to have so many volunteers working together, many hands really do make light work!
And there’s lots of lovely crops growing in our veg beds too, and fruit ripening in the sunshine! It’s all free to pick!
