If you live in Scotland with an interest in walking, climbing and mountaineering, we're recruiting trustees to join the Mountain Training Scotland board of directors. The posts are non-executive and applications are particularly welcomed from individuals with financial management experience and the ability to scrutinise financial accounts and reporting.

We are also committed to improving the diversity of the Board and encourage applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives that reflect the communities we support.

This workshop aims to demystify and clearly explain the various opportunities available to work on Mountain Training England qualification courses.

This is in line with Mountain Training England's 2026-30 Strategy which aims to widen the demographics of course staff and expand our audience.

The session will cover:

- What are the differences between a provider, a course director and course staff?
- Which could be right for you?
- What Mountain Training England are looking for in new providers – which schemes we are particularly interested in expanding, where and to which audiences
- Benefits and challenges of delivering Mountain Training England courses
- Experience and qualification requirements
- Advice on gaining required experience
- How to create a strong application
- Mountain Training support for providers and course staff
- Q & A

This session is delivered by Mark Walker & Esther Foster

Mark Walker is Mountain Training England’s Development Officer. He supports providers and course staff to deliver nationally consistent, quality courses across England.

Esther Foster delivers Rock Climbing Instructor and Rock Climbing Development Instructor courses on behalf of Mountain Training England in the Lake District.

Attendees should hold (or be close to completing) a Mountain Training qualification of:
