1st Gwydyr Scout Group were delighted to be presented with a cheque for £1,750 from St Grwst Lodge recently. Here is Alan Wainwright from the Lodge presenting the cheque to Chair of Trustees Hazel Barclay, Group Lead Volunteer Jon Richmond and members of our Cubs Scouts.

Hopefully the Cubs that went on this weekend's overnight camp to Rowen have returned home suitably tired! A great time was had by all, from orienteering in the woods, playing with bubbles, eating lots of baked potatoes, toasting marshmallows round the campfire, singing songs, spending the night in a tent (some people even slept!), waking up at the crack of dawn, eating breakfast, and going off to Conwy in the minibus! And we invested Fiona as part of the Cubs volunteer leaders team! Thank you to all the adult volunteers and parents who gave up their weekend to help. 🗺️🫧🥔🚶🚶‍♀️🧭🚐🎤🔥⛺💤🥱🫩🍳

As many know, we are the custodians of the Conwy District Scouts minibus. It's now back on the road after passing its MOT. Today we took it to the car wash - here Explorer Scout Isabel is doing a great job of making it sparkle!

Did you know that we are learning our Squirrel promise in Welsh?

We are one of the first Squirrel dreys in the UK to have written our promise in Welsh. As a bilingual group, it’s something we feel we should all know in both languages (although there were votes for French and Spanish too 🤦‍♀️!).
