Girls' Rugby is back 🏉🏉

Six young people from BYP took part in a Northumberland Youth Work Network activity day this week.
Young people from 15 youth clubs from all over the county enjoyed a beach walk from Bamburgh Castle to Seahouses, a boat trip to the Farne Islands and a 'Chippy Tea'.
The BYP group were set a photography challenge for the day - to take photos of objects that looked like letters of the alphabet. This challenge kept them in the moment and they saw finer details within their environment that they might not have noticed whilst walking.
One of the group overcame her fear of being on a boat and is looking forward to her next trip.

A great day was had by all 😀

✨ BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: AXL ✨

Through Amped’s collaboration with Berwick Youth Project, Darren has been working with AXL to develop confidence, musicianship and stagecraft.

What began with learning guitar soon uncovered a real love for singing, and now AXL is preparing to take another huge step: a first-ever live performance at The Straw Yard, supported by Darren on guitar.

AXL has turned up to every session with new ideas, enthusiasm, determination and enough banter to make sure Darren is always kept firmly in his place.

It has been an incredible journey from those first guitar sessions to the Fringe stage, and we’re incredibly proud to see AXL sharing their music with an audience for the first time.
