What a great turnout at today’s Children Pirate Parade!

It was fantastic to see so many families joining in and many meaningful conversations were had around water safety throughout the day!

Children’s Pirate Parade today from 10am to 12pm!! Within our inshore boathouse! 🏴‍☠️

All ages welcome and pirate costume non-obligatory however anyone dressed in a costume gets a little prize! 🌟

There is Pay & Display parking 🅿️ by the boathouse and all accessible ♿️

Today Bembridge RNLI crew were paged at 2:06PM and the Inshore Lifeboat Sue launched at 2:20PM to assist a 36 ft vessel ...

Today Bembridge RNLI crew were paged at 2:06PM and the Inshore Lifeboat Sue launched at 2:20PM to assist a 36 ft vessel that had run aground near St Helens Point.

On arrival it was assessed and agreed that the person on board could safely remain on the vessel until the tide rises, allowing it to refloat and continue under its own power. The person on board will update Coastguard once underway.

Two additional persons on board had already been taken off the vessel by a neighbouring craft. The ILB Sue was released at 2:38PM.

Yesterday evening, Bembridge RNLI All-Weather Alfred Albert Williams was tasked to help a 41ft yacht with 3 POB just as we launched for our Public Launch.

The casualty vessel had run aground by St Helen’s Fort, as the tide was rising the Y-Boat was launched and took an anchor out to stop the yacht from drifting while waiting for enough water to refloat.

Within 30 minutes the yacht was afloat and able to continue under its own power and the All-Weather lifeboat returned back to station at 8:05 pm.
