As we've mentioned before, we're currently in the process of building a model of the Cromford and High Peak Railway in 7mm Scale focusing on Middleton Top!

With it being the 4th Wednesday of the month, we had the larger room 103 available to us, so we just had to get it set up to see the progress so far.

Currently, our main tasks are to continue with the ash ballasting which is rather time consuming but very effective.

If you're interested in helping us progress with this project or one of our other layouts, then join us on a Wednesday evening from around 19.00 till 22.00 at Strutts Community Centre.

Isn't this good weather great!

Certainly helps drying paint quicker.

One of our members this morning has finished this lovely model of a rebuilt patriot.

It's already a very good model straight out of the box so just a simple job of fitting the detail pack, painting the wheel rims black, a firebox glow, none working lamps to the front, some real coal in the tender, all over gloss varnish and a suitable bit of weathering to depict it in its early 60s condition prior to withdrawal in 1962.
A nice pair of engine crew finishes it off.
