Tony and Sue have been Chatsworth tenants for 12years near the Derbyshire village of Shottle. We proudly host:
- A herd of 91 goats, mixed saanen, alpine, toggenburg and boer goats for milking, cuddling and walking 🐐
- 8 Aberdeen Angus cows for beef and beauty 🐄
- 3 Herdwick-cross breed sheep...just because 🐑
- Some rather elderly chickens in retirement 🐓
- Not to forget our wonderful farm dogs;
Nellie, Kepp and Moss 🐕
- 15 Bee-hives and a non-resident bee keeper next to the 186 apple tree orchard 🐝
- 40 Goldfish 🐟

Welcome to the Bull Shed ! Having moved from being landlord of « The Bull’s Head », the letters from the pub sign sentimentally moved with us, providing the perfect anagram for the Cow shed that Tony, supported by friends and family built into « The Bull Shed ». We proudly offer:
- A cosy fire-side table on colder evenings 🕯️
- Incredible steak cooked to each diner’s request to perfection (and of course other dietary preference options) 🥩
- The best cooked chips for a fair distance (according to our many visitors!) 🥔
- An experience when, during the meal, you realise you need to go to the water closet!!! 🚽
- Friendly service from each member of our Bull Shed team (that is, unless The Grumpy Farmer is particularly tired)!💤

Welcome to Grumpy Farmer’s Goats Cheese ! Made on site at Handley Farm in Sue’s Cheese room, using the milk from our 32 goats who provide us with their milk once per day (although much more during spring and summer than during the cold winter months!) 🥛
You can find Sue offering her local goats cheese and other organic fabulous cheeses:
- At the Wirksworth farmers Market 📍
- At Belper farmers Market 📍
- Served on top of a grilled salmon or chicken or roasted vegetables dish in the Bull Shed 🍽️
- And in between this, you can even find Sue on a Wednesday and Friday at Hair Designs in Belper 💇🏻♀️
- And also teaching other farm volunteers the process of goats milking and overseeing the goats herd supported by Maisy !🐐

Welcome to Handley Care Farm ! Sally leads the delivery of Tony and Sue’s vision to offer goat and Garden Therapy to young adults and children who may benefit from it, in our supported therapeutic environment as a part of the Handley Farm Team ;)
We proudly support delivery of:
- Fork 2 field educational opportunities for intercity and country schools; focussing on primary mainstream and secondary SEN 🧸
- Care farm supported sessions for clients (many of whom have special educational needs)🙌🏼
- Community service opportunities (including DofE, corporate team building events to deliver community service)🛠️
- Limited placements for young adults to volunteer👋🏼
This is truly the best adventure !!
