National Energy Action (NEA) is the national fuel poverty charity. We've worked across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland for over 40 years, to ensure that everyone can afford to live in a warm, healthy home. ​

​Together with frontline practitioners, companies, regulators and governments, National Energy Action works to support vulnerable clients, raise awareness and achieve enduring change. In

Northern Ireland, we chair the Fuel Poverty Coalition NI and act as the secretariat to the All-Party Group on Fuel Poverty. We advocate for policy and regulatory reforms to protect the most vulnerable, and we deliver accredited training to improve standards in energy advice.

As chair of the Fuel Poverty Coalition Northern Ireland, NEA NI is pleased to share the Fuel Poverty Coalition NI’s response to Communities NI's consultation on the Warm Healthy Homes Fund.

The proposed new energy efficiency scheme has the potential to deliver significant improvements in warmth, health and energy affordability for low-income and vulnerable households across NI. While we welcome many of the proposals, our response sets out further recommendations to strengthen the Fund’s design, so that it can deliver lasting benefits for households experiencing .

This year’s newsletter comes at a critical point for households across Northern Ireland. While there has been welcome movement on fuel poverty policy, including the launch of the Fuel Poverty Strategy, many households continue to face intense pressure from food, fuel and wider living costs. Our focus remains on turning policy commitments into timely, practical support for those most in need.

We want to thank you for your continued support and collaboration, especially as we move into the second half of the year with evidence pointing to a difficult period ahead for many households.
