🐾 MORE THAN JUST A DOG PARK! 🐶💚

Titanic Area Community Group has been in ongoing discussions with Cllr Ruth Brooks, who has been working hard to progress plans for a potential dedicated dog park along our Connswater Greenway.

A proposal is now progressing through Belfast City Council, with a report expected at the next East Belfast Working Group meeting.

This is about more than just a space for dogs. It’s about bringing people together, tackling isolation, meeting new friends, encouraging social interaction and helping our community thrive! 💚

Nothing is confirmed yet, but it’s a positive step forward. A big thank you to Ruth for her continued efforts! 👏🐾

Hopefully 6 weeks time it should be back open…🙏

Fantastic and much needed news for our community. 👏💙

We know first hand just how important Connswater Community Centre is. When those doors closed, it wasn’t simply a building that closed. Local people lost a place where they could come together, receive support and feel part of their community.

We look forward to hopefully continuing our work from the centre, including our Men’s Group, Women’s Group, Older People’s Support, peer mentoring, health & wellbeing activities, seasonal community events and other vital community support.

Our residents will be delighted to know that this important community asset is moving towards reopening and that we can hopefully continue providing the support, activities, events and connections that so many local people rely on.

This is exactly what a community centre should be. Open, welcoming, inclusive and serving the whole community.

Well done to everyone who has helped move this forward. 👏💙

Today I had the pleasure of attending the Belfast City Council Beacons Programme Celebration & Feedback Workshop at 2 Royal Avenue.

It was a great opportunity to reflect on this year’s Beacons Programme, share experiences and hear about the fantastic work taking place across communities throughout Belfast.

One of the best parts of today was the networking, catching up with people I haven’t seen in years and seeing that they’re still out there doing the same thing: working hard for their communities and trying to make a difference. 👏

It was also great making new connections, sharing ideas and talking about how programmes like this can continue to grow in the future.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising today and to Belfast City Council for the continued support through the Beacons Programme.

🤝 Community connections matter and days like today remind you just how many good people are out there doing the work.

A morning of Bingo, tea & coffee, laughs and good company.

Today is more than just a date on the calendar.

It’s a reminder to check on your mate. Check on your neighbour. Check on your family. Check on the person who always says, “I’m fine.”

Because sometimes the biggest smiles hide the hardest battles.

At Titanic Area Community Group Ltd, we believe nobody should have to face their darkest days alone.

Through our Men’s Group, Women’s Group and Granny & Granda Support Group, we are creating safe spaces where people can come through the door, have a cuppa, have a laugh, talk if they want to or simply sit among people who care.

No judgement.
No pressure.
No shame.

You don’t need to have the right words. Sometimes simply asking “Are you really OK?” and taking the time to listen can mean more than you realise.
