We firmly believe that professional development should never be a luxury.

That's why we're proud to see our Director, Laura Dowie, share this perspective in The Irish News - highlighting a reality many businesswomen still face: inconsistent access to learning, development and progression opportunities.

From where we sit, this isn't just a "women's issue"; it's a business issue. When development opportunities are delayed, restricted or seen as optional, organisations risk narrowing leadership pipelines and miss out on talent that is ready to grow now, not 'someday'.

This article reflects what we see every day in work with our clients and partners - that sustainable success comes when development is embedded, accessible and proactive. Investing in women's growth is about building confident leaders, resilient organisations and a stronger economy overall. The Mental Health UK's Burnout Report 2026 found that nine in ten adults (91%) experienced high or extreme levels of pressure or stress over the past year.

Stress can feel like 'too much to manage' and when individuals feel unable to take time off but are not functioning at their best - productivity, concentration and decision-making can all suffer.

How can you support your employees experiencing stress?

- Encourage open conversations

- Review workload and expectations

- Provide access to professional support

- Train managers to recognise signs of stress

Listed below are some of our upcoming spring programmes that we recommend for those experiencing stress:

Building Capacity and Productivity | 7th May
Reflect & Reboot - Resilience Workshop | 20th May
Equipping Managers for Success | 2nd June
Building High Performing Teams | 17th June

2 months, 24 sessions, over 70 hours of commitment.

After an incredible 8 weeks, our Women Returners Digital Skills Academy in partnership with MetropolitanCollege has come to an end. A group of inspiring women stepped outside of their comfort zones, embraced new challenges, refreshed their digital knowledge, and formed valuable connections.

Through their hard work and commitment, they have not only built confidence in their abilities but have also achieved a Level 2 OCN qualification in Digital Marketing.

This academy is about so much more than learning; it’s about growth, resilience, and new beginnings.
From the team at Centre of Learning, our sincere thanks go to Diana Atchison from Belfast Met, and Jacqui Kirk from

We were delighted to celebrate the women and finish the programme on a high at with our wonderful panel at the celebration event, Clare Sinanan from Cala Consulting, Frances Veit from Liberty IT and Juliana Germinio from Yellow Zest Creative Marketing.

We are incredibly proud of everything the women have accomplished and can’t wait to see where their new skills will take them 💻
