CRIS were thrilled to be invited by the Community Relations Council to attend the Making a Difference Conference and join the final panel to discuss the future of peacebuilding. Our Director of Programmes, Dr. Emily Stanton, shared her insights from her work and research. An unexpected bonus was the fantastic impact posters which CRC created for each core group to communicate in a snapshot how we each made an impact. CRIS are proud to be core funded by CRC and appreciate how much support they provide to showcase our work and shine the light on positive stories of peacebuilding.

The TPL Fund is now open through the Department of Education! CRIS is hosting a TPL for our Key Stage 1 Celebrating Diversity curriculum on Thursday 1st October. See the invite for everything it includes, and reach out for more questions.

Congratulations to our Director of Programmes, Dr. Emily Stanton, on being a finalist in the category of Outstanding Impact in Education for The Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards! Hosted by Ajuda, this awards seeks to draw visibility to those who promote positive mental health across the community. We are certainly grateful for Emily's thoughtful presence on our team and for her emphasis on mindfulness with pupils. teachers, and parents across our programmes.

In light of recent events in Northern Ireland, we wanted to provide teachers and school staff with some strategies for helping students feel calm and safe when they walk in their classrooms. This grounding practice is best done when the adults participate and model with the students, especially older ones.

We know these activities won't make the heavy stuff go away, but we hope they will help students (and adults) feel safe enough to talk about their feelings with trusted people.
