A great weekend at Q-Con Belfast 2026! On Saturday, Megan and Rebekah had a stall where they got to chat to lots of people about our programmes so thank you if you stopped by. On Sunday, a number of our In This Together participants attended - some were even lucky enough to meet The Mandalorian and Grogu!

In This Together is a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

We are so proud of the Digital Horizons Academy and all its participants. The quotes from the participants speak for themselves. Thank you so much to The James Kane Foundation for your support. If you know anyone who might benefit from joining one of our programmes, please get in touch.

We are delighted to see the impact that the Digital Horizons Academy, delivered by Specialisterne Northern Ireland, is having on participants as they build confidence, develop new skills and take positive steps towards employment and education.

Out of the 20 participants involved in the programme, five have already secured employment, while all are actively seeking work, with two exploring further opportunities through IT courses at college and university.

The Academy has helped participants overcome barriers they never thought possible. Through employability sessions, employer experience days and visits to local companies, they have gained valuable insights into the workplace, developed practical skills and begun to see new possibilities for their future careers.

Now at the half way point of this funded project, we were delighted to receive some participant testimonials from Specialisterne:

“I feel before that I didn’t have the tools I needed as an adult to be confident, but now after attending the Academy and being involved every week, I feel that I am better prepared to do things and it’s easier to be confident in myself.”

Another said:

“If it wasn’t for this academy I think I wouldn’t be in this place now, actively applying for jobs and realizing I can do this again after a long career break.”

We are proud to support programmes like Digital Horizons Academy that empower individuals, break down barriers and create pathways to education, employment and brighter futures.
