The hospitality sector has come together to launch - a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.
Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we're working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as British Beer & Pub Association, the Bll, and Hospitality Ulster, hospitality communities like CODE Hospitality, and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.
Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.
This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

Delighted to meet with Jemma Dolan MLA and some of our members in Enniskillen today to discuss the key challenges facing hospitality businesses.

Topics on the agenda included VAT, rates, and the ongoing cost-of-doing-business crisis.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to a constructive and insightful discussion.

Today I met with Hospitality Ulster alongside representatives from some of the fantastic hotels, restaurants and pubs right across South Antrim. 🍽️🍻🏨

It was a very productive discussion covering the recent VAT reductions, the disastrous project being pushed, then abandoned, by the Finance Minister, and the deeply concerning and poorly named “Good Jobs Bill”. 📉

Businesses are warning that some of these proposals could cost employers more than many people could ever hope to earn. That should concern every one of us. ⚠️

Our hospitality sector is one of the backbone industries of Northern Ireland, creating jobs, driving tourism, supporting families and bringing life to our towns and villages. 👏

I will always stand with our local businesses, championing policies that help them grow, invest and thrive, because when local businesses succeed, our whole community benefits. 🇬🇧💼
