A great first Irish class tonight with our group.
Big thanks to our Múinteoir Breandan for his first class teaching expertise and story telling, poetry and a lovely song to finish. Another big thanks to Breanda from Coláiste Feirste for her support towards our bun rang , also to Foxy from Ionad Uíbh Eachach who gathered everyone’s starter packs and we all greatly appreciate all the help. The ladies really enjoyed this, go raibh maith agaibh. ☘️🇮🇪

Christmas Card Creation tonight!
Thanks to our Sinead who never stops!!
Next week is our last before the Christmas break with a festive celebration organised by Sinead (again) and a nice we party feast! Thanks to Bernie for keeping us all in order and managing the books for us and thanks to everybody for their attendance and craic throughout the years we are half way through our third year! Great for our well being and thanks to all our members and to local take-aways supplying the food on special nights for us . Thanks to our members for bringing cakes and buns especially Theresa Girvans chocolate velvet fudge and to our 5 newcomers who have added more creativity to our team. After the festive break to add the educational element to our group we will welcome Brendan Liggot to the Shed for an Irish language beginners course which will run for 12 weeks. At the end we will all achieve a Silver Fainne for some basic conversation meeting and greeting , going to the shop etc!! Maith sibh achan duine. Thanks so much to the Clonard Residents Association - Cumann Chónaitheoirí Chluain Ard for letting us use their facilities. Well done everyone!!

80’s Mania Music Bingo was brilliant tonight as our fun night. I would like to thank Berts Pizza for our amazing pizzas they kindly donated that they all fought over. The best pizzas on the road by far!!! Also was a birthday suprise for Margaret McGowan who will turn 80 on Monday! Happy birthday, well done Clonard!! @

The Shed sitting tonight discussing our Educational Program for the Term , while Roisin is in the Treatment Room working on the Ladies distressful Ear/hearing needs tonight. We are going to contact the Belfast Tool Library (Belfast Toolbox) in order to teach tools skills , curtain rails etc and then contact the Conservation Project also with Gardening skills for after the New Year, we are also looking at other resources and alternatives . A few locals are holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning in Clonard House on Wednesday 1st October at 11.00am to try and raise more money for this very worthy cause. If people are unable to attend they could call to Clonard House and talk to Cheryl Forsyth or Marie Osborne. They hope to have a fun day with lovely home bakes, ballots and quizzes. If anyone would like to donate prizes for ballots and quizzes anything , they will be greatly appreciated thank you so much. GRMA!!
