NB Housing supports ‘Our Shared History’ project

Community group members from Dunmurry Community Association and Upper Andersonstown Community Forum, joined by local tour guides, visited Clifton St graveyard as part of a Good Relations programme which will consist of a series of discussions/walking tours.

Locations include Dunmurry Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church Hall, Friars Bush cemetery, Clifton House/Cemetery and Belfast City Centre. The key benefits of this initiative come from exploring our shared history, learning together whilst dispelling myths and building understanding of our rich cultural past.

This project is supported by the Department for Communities and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s Housing for All, Shared Housing Programme. The programme has its origins in the NI Executive’s Together: Building a United Community Strategy, which reflects a commitment to improving community relations and continuing the journey towards a more united and shared society.

A potential £2m will be invested in the Kingsway, Dunmurry shared housing development and associated five-year Good Relations Plan.

There is an ongoing gas leak in Flax Street beside Hillview retail park. NI Fire & Rescue have been liaising with residents in the nearby vicinity and have advised them to remain indoors and keep all windows and doors closed until told otherwise.

Emergency services are currently in attendance at Hillview Retail Park in North Belfast
