City of Belfast Advanced Motorcyclists City of Belfast Advanced Motorcyclists is a local group of IAM RoadSmart.

CoBAM aims to advance the skills of motorcyclists in Northern Ireland by providing a supportive and friendly environment leading to advanced testing by IAM qualified assessors.

Today we saw 21 members, 4 associates and 4 pillions join us for a pillion day run around Co. Down stopping at The Peppercorn Bistro in Comber for brunch before heading to the Ulster Aviation Society to join members from other Northern Ireland IAM RoadSmart groups for a BBQ and tours around the hangers.

Thanks to David Peden for leading the group run and Peter Brunsden for tail duties.

A huge thanks to the two Tonys (Tony McAllister and Tony McAlister) from CoBAM and Bruce Steele and Stevie Sherry from IAM NI for all their work organising the event and a huge thanks to the volunteers from the UAS and everyone else who helped out to make the day a success.

Yesterday we saw 17 members and 2 associates join us for a run down to Diamonds Restaurant Warrenpoint through Sprucefield and Hillsborough with a debrief in Lurgan before making our way to Tandragee, Poyntzpass and through Newry to Warrenpoint.

Thanks to Pete for leading both the morning and afternoon runs and to Ian and Catherine for doing tail end. The afternoon run saw us head out towards Hamiltonsbawn before going around part of the Tandragee 100 circuit on our way to scarva for a coffee and a bun.

Saturday 1 August, 2026. Harrison's Of Greyabbey

We had 17 members out today, including 2 observed runs. Tony McAllister led us through Hillsborough, Ballynahinch, Saintfield, Comber and Newtownards to Harrison's Of Greyabbey where were well received and well fed as usual. Thanks to Brian Mallon for doing tail-end duties.

Our afternoon run took us across the ferry to Strangford, through Downpatrick for a very pleasant coffee stop at Fodder in the woods cafe where we enjoyed excellent coffee and company in the sunshine.
