We know many of you missed out this year on the days and spaces you wanted for our amazing SUMMER CAMPS! Now make sure to book early for our Halloween Camps, to make sure you've secured your spot!

For ages 5-12, running from Monday 26th to Friday 30th October 2026, 9am to 3pm. £170 for the full week, eligible for tax-free childcare allowance via PonchoPay at check-out.

For the kids who don't want the holiday adventures to end - AFTER-SCHOOL ADVENTURES AT THE GLADE picks up right where summer left off, every Thursday from September through to December.

📍 At Belfast YMCA, Stranmillis
🕒 Anytime drop-in, and sessions run until 5.30pm
🚐 2pm pickups from Stranmillis Primary if you need!
👦 New faces very welcome, no forest school experience needed

Real, traditional physical play: climbing, scrambling, hauling, building. Kids get the opportunity to get out in the fresh air, testing what they can do, getting curious about the world... and coming home muddy, tired, and already asking when they can go back! 💚🤎

We wanted to share some thoughts from our amazing facilitator ROZ on the progress of our little ones at THE GLADE recently!

About half way through our Summer Camps, and it has been fantastic to see how much they've developed - in their confidence, comfort, and curiosity out here in the natural world.

THANK YOU to all the families who've brought your little saplings here, and trusted us to help them grow!

We're sorry to say there are NO MORE PLACES in this year's Summer Camp, but if you want to sign up for future activities before they're sold up, go to belfastymca.org/glade-1st to join our mailing list to be the first to hear about the amazing things we have planned.

For example, our AFTER-SCHOOL ADVENTURES are launching this September! When school's out on Thursdays, we're running weekly sessions for ages 5 to 11 to let your young ones get a dose of nature into their routine. Go to belfastymca.org/adventures to find out more!

💚 Our kids are spending all summer building dens, tending fires, and finding bugs they won't stop talking about. We didn't want that to stop just because the holidays are ending!

AFTER-SCHOOL ADVENTURES AT THE GLADE starts back up this September, at Belfast YMCA Stranmillis, every Thursday through to December.

Whether your child was one of the 83 who came along over summer, or this would be their first time at The Glade, they're welcome to join us in the woods each week during term time until 5.30pm. Anytime drop-offs after 2.30pm, and 2pm pickups from Stranmillis Primary. We'll have them out on beautiful days, and help them learn to love the rainy ones too, with dedicated indoor space at Belfast YMCA in case of *really* serious weather.

Our summer programme booked out fast, so if you'd like your child there this term, it's best to book soon to avoid disappointment. You can use tax-free childcare allowance at checkout!

At Belfast YMCA Early Learning & Childcare, we believe some of the best adventures happen outdoors!

This spring, we were thrilled to partner with The Glade right here on our site, giving children the chance to enjoy Forest School as part of their regular day. That means more muddy boots, more bug hunting, more den building, more campfire moments and lots of opportunities to explore, create and grow in nature.

By now, most of our children from Nursery 1 to Nursery 3 have had the chance to join sessions with our fantastic Forest School Facilitator, Roz, whose energy, creativity and love for the outdoors have helped bring our vision for The Glade to life.

Watching the children build confidence, curiosity and friendships in the great outdoors has been incredible, and we can't wait for even more woodland adventures ahead!
