We’re delighted to share some of the incredible artwork created by members from our Market Street and Woodlands community wellbeing services. πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ¨πŸ–Œ

The paintings were produced as part of the recent BEAM project, in partnership with Beam Creative Network.

These amazing pieces are now proudly on display at the Burnavon, Cookstown. 🎨

The BEAM project focuses on using creativity as a tool for connection, confidence and wellbeing. Through guided workshops, participants explored new skills, expressed themselves freely and discovered just how positive art can be for mental health.

It helps reduce stress, boosts mood, builds self-esteem and gives people a meaningful way to share their stories. And these pieces do exactly that, each one full of personality, colour and heart. πŸ’œ

Swipe through the photos to see the talent and creativity of the people who use our services. We couldn’t be prouder! 🌟

The allotment group at our Scraboview community wellbeing service in Newtownards has been busy over the past few months, supported by staff member Mandy Cowan and volunteer Raymond Demerel, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to! 🀩

We were extremely fortunate to receive support from Orla and her team at The Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland (TCV), who worked closely with our allotment group to deliver a seasonal wellbeing programme entitled 'Enjoying Nature in Winter'. 🌿

The sessions combined the Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing with practical learning and hands‑on activities focused on nature. Participants took part in an informative session about local bird species and winter trees, helping them to understand the natural environment around them better and recognise the importance of biodiversity throughout the colder months. Alongside this, the group explored simple, accessible ways to interact with nature, such as mindful observation, gentle outdoor activity and shared learning. All of these can positively support mental and physical health, even in challenging weather conditions. β„οΈπŸŒ³

In addition to the wellbeing programme, TCV provided further practical support to our group. They helped to install a new boundary fence, which improves both the safety and usability of the space. This project relied on building skills, confidence and a strong sense of teamwork.

TCV has also committed to returning to offer expert advice on making better use of our greenhouse. This will maximise growing opportunities and ensure that the allotment continues to develop in a sustainable, productive way.

We are incredibly grateful to the TCV folks for their time, expertise and ongoing support. Their involvement has improved our allotment space and made a positive impact on the wellbeing, confidence and engagement of everyone involved. πŸ’œ
