🏀 NI Wheelchair Basketball League – Finals Day 2025/26 - Sponsored by Perennials RFC
A great day of wheelchair basketball action this past weekend as the 2025/26 NI Wheelchair Basketball League came to an exciting close at Newforge Sports Complex and Event Hub.
Vase Final
Congratulations to BC Werewolves, who went back to back and retained the Vase title with a hard fought win over the Causeway Giants.
League Trophy Final
In a repeat of last year, it was an all Knights final with Knights TH and Knights KM battling it out for top spot in the league. With both sides winning their Semi Final matches, against Bangor Bulls and Craigavon Lakers respectively, it was Knight KM who would take the victory and get their hands on the League Trophy. Congratulations to players and coaches!
Individual Awards
We were also proud to celebrate some standout talent and sportsmanship across the league on the day. On hand to present the awards was Kevin O'Neill (Disability Sport NI CEO), Paddy Marshall (Disability Sport NI Chair) and Gavin Boyd (Sport NI Chair).
Winners below:
Female MVP – Cath Quinn (Bangor Bulls)
Male MVP - Matt Rollston (Knights KM)
Sportsmanship Award - Mary McCabe (Knights TH)
Young Player of the Year – Ethan Po***ck (Causeway Giants)
Huge thanks to our sponsors Perennials RFC, funders Sport NI and British Wheelchair Basketball for their continued support throughout the season.
And of course, thank you to every player, coach, volunteer, official, and supporter who continue to make our league better and better each year!
