Huge well done to Finn O’Neill - Young Decathlete

At the weekend Finn achieved the commonwealth games consideration standard in Denton, Dallas USA. A huge performance with massive PBs all round taking him to 9th in the Irish all time list at just 20yrs old. 👏🏻

“The Trust inspires me to believe anything is possible – as long as I believe in myself,” says Alpha badminton and Irish Senior player Matthew Cheung.

Being a Mary Peters Trust athlete means a lot to 21-year-old UCD student Matthew Cheung from Lisburn.

The Trust has supported the Alpha Badminton player since 2019 with several funding awards which have helped him travel to tournaments worldwide, improving his game and increasing his rankings.

Matthew is enjoying a strong start to 2026 having already clinched the Men’s Singles title in this year’s Irish Senior Nationals and is aiming for even more accolades during the rest of the year.

A cast of 40+ young stars from the Rainbow Factory School of Performing Arts amazed a sell out crowd at The MAC, earning a standing ovation for their powerful performance celebrating the early life of Olympic legend Mary Peters.

An original production written and directed by award winning screenwriter and director Máire Campbell. A story of resilience, ambition, and determination. 🌟
