Looking after your mental health is important, and that's why offering support to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing through HEADS UP is so necessary.

From April to June, 328 young people took part in our group programmes, with a further 28 receiving one-to-one support, providing a space and tools to explore ways to look after their mental health.

🎨✨ The finishing touches are complete on our spray art project in Tallaght, Dublin!

Designed by young people and shaped by the local community, the mural beautifully reflects the colours and character of the farm. From vibrant flowers to rabbits and geese, the artwork incorporates many of the features that make this space so special. 🐇🌼🪿

This was a truly young person and community-led project, bringing people together to create something lasting for everyone to enjoy. A fantastic example of creativity, collaboration and community pride. 💚

✨ It's been a busy and rewarding few weeks across our Give & Take programmes! ✨

🔹Young people from Belfast, Lisburn, Ballymena and Armagh enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, giving them a chance to learn more about the exciting opportunities available within the creative industries.

🔹In Derry/Londonderry, we wrapped up our summer programme with a group lunch and celebrated three young people who are moving on to exciting new opportunities this September. Two will be studying Hair & Beauty, while another has secured a joinery apprenticeship. We wish them every success in their next chapter! 👏

🔹We also said goodbye and thank you to Gráinne, who completed her work placement with us, while Charlie has been keeping everyone motivated through our August Step Challenge.

🔹Meanwhile, Lydnsay attended the Next Step event with the Enniskillen JBO team sharing all about the opportunities within Include Youth

We love seeing our young people grow in confidence, explore new opportunities and take positive steps towards their future. 💙

🔹It is our experience that children and young people who have become involved in the criminal justice system have complex needs and experience multiple layers of trauma. This is especially true for care experienced young people. We are calling for a system which better understands the realities of children and young people’s lives and one which is not quick to criminalise.

🔹Criminalising children will not address the root causes of offending behaviour. Rather we promote an approach focussed on early intervention, prevention and diversion out of the justice system, alongside tailored community-based support which will address challenging behaviour.

🔹We hope that this approach will be championed within the outworking of the new Strategy for Reducing Offending and Reoffending. A whole system and holistic approach which includes action from health, education, economy, employment, community, housing and justice sectors can be the only way forward.

What a fantastic day in Lifford! 🎉

Families, friends and neighbours came together for the STRIVE Community Fun Day, enjoying games, music, entertainment and plenty of community spirit. A huge well done to the young people who organised and delivered such a successful event, bringing people of all ages together and showcasing the positive impact young people have in their communities. 💙
