NI Youth Forum NI Youth Forum is a youth led organisation that lobbies, advocates & promotes young people’s rights.

The NIYF is a youth led organisation that lobbies, advocates, promotes and fights for the rights of young people. We believe that young people have an important role to play. The Youth Forum exists to support young people to affect positive change for themselves and for their communities; we believe young people sound be invested in; can be part of the solution; want to be empowered and must be listened to. We believe that one person can make a difference; and that together we can achieve great things.

💬 Another Our Voices engagement!

The Our Voices steering group recently met with Chris Quinn, Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People, to discuss some of the key issues coming through the Your Voice, Our Future research.

The conversation focused on:

🏘️ Community relations and sectarianism
📱 Social media ban
♀️ Ending violence against women and girls
🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQIA+ equality

It was another important opportunity for the group to bring young people’s experiences and priorities directly into conversations with decision-makers - continuing to advocate on behalf of the 592 young people who took part in the research 📊🙌

💬 Our Voices in action!

Last week the Our Voices steering group met with officials from The Executive Office to feed into the development of the new Good Relations Framework!

There were plenty of conversations around community relations, social media, sectarianism, youth priorities and ensuring young people have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect them🗣️🤝

Most importantly, the group were able to bring the findings from Your Voice, Our Future directly into the discussion - advocating on behalf of the 592 young people who shared their views through the research 📊🙌

A great example of turning youth-led research into influence and action! ✨

Our Change Project Team had a brilliant day with Year 11, 12, and 13 students at St. Joseph's High School, Crossmaglen.

🏠 We dove into Northern Ireland’s housing crisis statistics, debunked youth homelessness myths, and explored how the NI Housing Executive works.

🏠Youth Apprentice Cian shared his lived experience and reminding the students to always reach out for help.
