Are you aged 16–30 and currently not in education, training or employment?

Would you be interested in gaining a CSR Card and developing skills that could help you take your next step towards employment? 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

We’re looking at the possibility of offering CSR training to young people and want to see if there is interest!

Tonight’s session at AMPLIFY was all about building life skills and having fun while doing it. The young women kicked things off by planning their own meals and setting budgets, then headed straight to their own grocery shopping. They put their cooking skills into practice and created fajitas, stir-fry, pizzas, picky bits, and a dessert to finish! 🍕🌮
It was a great session for the group, they reflected on their spending, share key takeaways, and build real self-awareness around food and finance.

⭐️ Something new is coming! ⭐️

The Participation Platform is a four-year UK-wide programme led by NI Youth Forum in partnership with Leaders Unlocked and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund through the UK Fund.

The programme supports young people to take on meaningful leadership roles and influence governance. It will also help organisations strengthen how they involve young people on boards and in leadership roles. 🤝 🗣️ 💬

Young people are currently co-designing the project’s identity so keep an eye out for our new identity. 👀

On Wednesday evening, the group welcomed David Toner, a graphic designer, to talk through all things report design.

Key learning included the importance of understanding the purpose/message of the report before thinking about colours, fonts & layout 🎨

Tonight at AMPLIFY, our young women’s group dove deep into the social action issues that matter most to their community. From sharing research insights to getting honest about their own journeys.

With results day tomorrow, they broke into groups to tackle the topic of how to best support students navigating the stress, anticipation, and emotions of receiving their results.

They reflected on their experiences and put together advice they wish they had heard for other students to read 😊

Yesterday Holly & Josh from our Voice Team and Shannon & Cian from our Social Justice Team attended training by Children's Law Centre in relation to achieving change through Stormont 🏛️

📝 The training explored the role Stormont, MLAs, ministers and their processes.

ℹ️ The session was very informative and we would recommend for anybody who is interested in this topic.

Thank you to CLC for having us and thank you to the Housing Executive & The National Lottery Community Fund Northern Ireland for funding this learning.

We look forward to using what we learnt in practice and continue to make change where we can 💪
