🧡 International Youth Day 🧡

Today we recognise the important contribution made by the young men and women of the Orange family.

It’s fantastic to see our Junior Lodges continuing to grow, with young people getting involved, making friends and developing the confidence and skills that will serve them well in the years ahead.

A special thank you also goes to the many volunteers who give their time to provide leadership, encouragement and support. Their commitment makes such a difference.

👏 Well done to everyone involved in our Junior Lodges.

📸 And we have our winners! 🍊

On International Youth Day, it seems only right to celebrate some of the young people who made this year’s Twelfth so memorable.

The votes are counted and the results of our Twelfth Photography Competition are in…

🥇 1st – Thomas, tipping his hat to the crowds
🥈 2nd – Billy, on the Stranocum FB Bass drum
🥉 3rd – Four members from Omagh JLOL 11

Congratulations to all three winning entries! 👏

We also want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part, to all of our finalists, and to the many people who got involved and voted over the past few days.

There were some brilliant photographs submitted this year, capturing everything from the bands and parades to the smiles, friendships and excitement that make the Twelfth such a special day for our junior members.

And on International Youth Day, they’re a pretty good reminder that the next generation isn’t waiting in the wings – they’re already very much part of our Institution. 🍊

We’ll be in touch with our three winning entries to arrange their prizes.

Well done Thomas, Billy and Omagh JLOL 11! 👏📸🍊

The Twelfth 2026 is one I’ll look back on with fondness.

My sincere thanks go to the officers and brethren of County Donegal Grand Orange Lodge for their invitation to parade at Rossnowlagh, and to County Armagh Grand Orange Lodge for the warm welcome I received in Newtownhamilton.

It was a privilege to represent the Junior Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland at both demonstrations. My highlight was seeing the strength of the Junior movement. Seeing so many boys from the Junior Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland and girls from the Junior Orange Women's Association of Ireland taking part in both parades showed just how much both Junior Institutions have grown over the past few years.

I’d also like to thank both County Masters for their friendship, encouragement and the support they continue to show the Junior Institution.

It was a pleasure to meet the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Matthew Patrick MP, in Newtownhamilton. I was grateful for the interest he took in the work of the Junior Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland and in the growth we’ve seen over recent years.

The photograph shows members of Kilbracks Bible and Crown Defenders JLOL 75 with Matthew Patrick MP and myself.

Twelfth 2026… complete. 🧡

Don’t forget that entries are still being accepted for our 2026 Twelfth Photography Competition. If you’re a member of either Junior Institution, make sure you get your entry in.

🟠🟠The wait is nearly over!🟠🟠

Tomorrow, the Twelfth celebrations get underway in Rossnowlagh, before demonstrations take place across Northern Ireland on Monday.

We want to wish everyone a safe, enjoyable and memorable Twelfth of July. We hope the weather is kind and that the weekend is filled with friendship, fellowship and lasting memories.

To all our junior members, enjoy every minute of it. Wear your colours with pride, represent your lodges well, and make memories that will stay with you for years to come.

If the sun does make an appearance, stay safe by wearing sunscreen, keeping hydrated and looking out for one another.

And don’t forget our Twelfth Photography Competition! We’d love to see your favourite photographs from this year’s Twelfth celebrations. The competition is open to all Junior Orange members, so be sure to get your entries in.

Details on the various venues can be found on the following link: https://www.goli.org.uk/twelfth

Happy Twelfth from everyone at the Junior Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.
