This National Volunteer Week, we'd like to say thank you to the incredible people who have been making Walking for All possible in communities across Northern Ireland and the border counties over the past 6 months โ€“ our Walk Leaders. ๐Ÿ’š

Every week, Walk Leaders create welcoming spaces where people can get active, enjoy the outdoors and connect with others close to home. They help new participants feel comfortable, encourage conversation, build confidence and play an important role in bringing communities together.

What might seem like a simple walk can have a lasting impact. For many, it is an opportunity to meet new people, establish a healthy routine and feel part of something positive in their local area.

Our Walk Leaders are at the heart of that experience.

Thank you to each and every Walk Leader for your enthusiasm, commitment and community spirit. Your contribution is helping more people take positive steps towards better health, wellbeing and social connection. ๐Ÿ’š

Walking for All... weathers! โ˜”

It's been a pretty wet start to June and we are incredibly grateful for our Walking for All community who continue to come together despite the unusually wet conditions.

Our Claudy Walkers group greatly welcomed their post-walk cup of tea and scones this morning!

Here's hoping for some better weather over the weekend โ˜€๏ธ

Great to see new walks taking place in communities across the Causeway Coast and Glens! ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿ’š

* Tuesdays at 7pm - Nuns Walk, Portstewart: A relaxed and scenic walk along the promenade overlooking Portstewart strand.

* Fridays at 10.30am - Meet & Miles, Bushmills: A very gentle, slow-paced walk in a relaxed and supportive environment. The area is closed off to traffic, creating a secure space with a wide, clearly marked looped route using cones for easy visibility. The route is completely flat, with rest chairs placed at intervals, so participants can pause whenever they need.

* Fridays at 12pm - The Mill Walk, Ballymena: This walk provides a lovely opportunity to see the historic mill and learn a little about what goes on there. There are seats along the way where walkers can stop and enjoy the scenery.

To join a walk across the Causeway Coast and Glens, or find a walk in your local area, visit our website here: https://walkingforall.com/join-a-walk

Everyone is welcome!

It was wonderful to see so many people coming together to enjoy our public taster walks in Clones, Rockcorry, Glaslough, Monaghan and Emy Lough. The positivity, connection, and community spirit at each walk have been truly inspiring. ๐Ÿ’š

A special congratulations also to the 15 new walk leaders across the county, along with 2 new walking groups, who are helping to support healthier, happier, and more connected communities through the simple act of walking.

As part of our National Walking Month programme, weโ€™re excited to keep the momentum going throughout May, with new walks coming to Ballybay, Carrickmacross and Castleblayneyโ€ฆ watch this space! ๐Ÿ‘€

Weโ€™d love to see even more people get involved. Whether youโ€™d like to join a walk, become a walk leader, or start a walking group in your own community, weโ€™d love to hear from you! ๐Ÿ’š
