What a week for HER Outdoors! 💚

Last week, Walking for All hosted a series of taster walks as part of HER Outdoors, bringing women together to get active, enjoy the outdoors and experience the simple pleasure of walking in good company.

A brilliant reminder that getting outdoors doesn’t have to be complicated — sometimes all it takes is a walk, a welcoming group and that first step.

A huge well done to everyone who stepped out and joined in! 👟

A brilliant achievement for our walkers! 👏🚶

Congratulations to our Penguin Plus and Mencap Healthier Me walking group who recently stepped out and joined a Park Walk! It was a fantastic opportunity for the group to enjoy the outdoors and take on something together - with plenty of smiles along the way.

Well done to everyone who took part! 🥳

A big thank you also to our Walk Leaders and Dungannon Park parkrun for having us and making everyone feel so welcome.

Hello again 👋 ! We've been quieter than usual on here lately... It's been a busy few weeks out in communities supporting new walks and training Walk Leaders. We've got lots of stories that we can't wait to share with you in the coming weeks. But first, here are a few snapshots from communities who have been stepping out and joining in across the region this summer. 🚶

Congratulations to all of our walks and walk leaders! 🎉

For Men's Mental Health Week last month, our Walking for All Officer Gemma caught up with our Cornafean 'Men on the Move' walking group in Cavan to discuss some of the reasons they walk together each week. Find out what they said:

💙 "The walk helps me sleep better"
💙 "Walking improves my balance and keeps me active"
💙 "It's great exercise & helps me maintain my health"
💙 "You come home feeling better, and you've caught up on all the news, all the craic"

Men's Mental Health Week took place 15-21 June. Thanks to everyone who took part and shared their experience.

🎉 Congratulations to everyone in Dromore West, County Sligo, who recently celebrated more than three months of walking together with Walking for All! 👣💚

Every Tuesday, two groups set off from the community centre, offering a choice of a gentle village walk or the scenic river walk, before coming together for a chat.

We recently hosted an event to recruit more walkers and walk leaders from the local area. Walking for All Officer Matteo joined, followed by a walk and refreshments with the group.

A special thank you to the West Sligo Young at Heart Club Walking Group for your continued commitment to growing Walking for All in the community. Since launching, more than 40 people have joined the walks, and it's fantastic to see new Walk Leaders now stepping forward to support the group's continued success.

Here's to many more miles, conversations, and community connections! 💚

Our Sligo walking groups are welcoming new walkers and Walk Leaders. If you are interested in joining us, please find more details below.
