Falls Community Council's director Gerry McConville had the pleasure today to welcome soon-to-be Belfast's City Mayor Cllr Róis-Máire Donnelly to An Clár Dubh at St Comgall's.

Róis Máire dropped in with family and friends for a coffee and a chat ahead of taking on her responsibilities as the city’s First Citizen next week. ☕️

Everyone at Falls Community Council wishes her every success in the year ahead as she takes on this important role representing our great city.

Our staff in St Comgall's - Ionad Eileen Howell are delighted to host a beautiful afternoon of crafting & craic in support of the 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 in Gaza ♥️

It's the story of the troubles in the Falls told by those who actually lived it, including a cinematic experience.

Kevin Rowland, the frontman and genius behind Dexys Midnight Runners, discusses his recently published memoir, Bless Me Father, in conversation with Danny Morrison.

Told with brutal, emotional honesty, Kevin talks about his difficult childhood, his fraught relationship with his Irish Catholic father, his personal failures, and addictions, how music ‘saved’ him, and the inspiration behind his ‘Celtic-soul sound’.

He also writes about politics and his long support for Irish reunification. Kevin continues as the frontman of Dexys, and his band will be performing in the Ulster Hall on 5 November.

Followed by Q&A and book signing.

This week the Frank Gillen Centre brought a very special group of local people into our exhibition, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻.

The group spent almost two hours in the exhibition before sitting down in 𝗔𝗻 𝗖𝗹á𝗿 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗵 café for coffee, some great food and a very lively conversation as they reflected on a fascinating and informative visit.

It was a pleasure for our staff and the team in An Clár Dubh to host such a wonderful group and we would like to extend our thanks to Sinead and everyone from the Frank Gillen Centre who made this visit possible.
