A huge thank you to our amazing supporters on the Barnardo's Committee at Royal School Dungannon for all their work in raising an outstanding £5,000 to support our services across Northern Ireland!

Your support makes a difference to children, families and young people, helping them to feel happier, healthier and more hopeful. 💚

A huge thank you to last year’s Barnardo’s Committee, whose hard work and creativity delivered a series of fantastic fundraising events — including a festive Christmas Market and a vibrant Colour Run — raising an outstanding £5,000 for Barnardo’s.

Caroline, from the charity, recently visited RSD to accept the donation and expressed her sincere thanks to our pupils for their dedication throughout the year. She explained that the funds will go directly towards supporting children and young people across Northern Ireland.

Well done to everyone involved — a wonderful achievement for a very worthy cause. 💚

What an incredible milestone to celebrate! 🎉

We recently welcomed some of our longest-serving foster carers from across Northern Ireland to a special event in Belfast.

Together, these remarkable carers have provided loving homes to more than 100 children and have a combined 200 years of fostering experience.

Our Director of Fostering, Adoption and Children in Care, Brenda Farrell, thanked them for their extraordinary dedication and the lasting difference they have made to the lives of so many children and young people. 💚

Our early years staff were delighted to attend training for an exciting new initiative in Newtownabbey to support speech, language and communication for young children.

Our Family Connections - Newtownabbey service is rolling out Let’s Talk Newtownabbey later this year.

Funded by the Department for Education RAISE programme and supported by Help Kids Talk, it will include support for children, parents and early years staff.

Following the launch of our election manifesto we're continuing to call on politicians across all parties to ensure that children and families are a top priority for the next government.

At the weekend our Assistant Director of Children's Services Nikki Gregg and policy team Emma DeSouza and Meg Stith attended the DUP conference where they spoke to party leader Gavin Robinson and Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly MLA about putting children at the heart of government and investing in early years provision including expanding SureStart.

Our Assistant Director Tracy Brownlee and Senior Policy and Public Affairs Lead Emma DeSouza attended the SDLP conference to call on political leaders to put children at the heart of government.

They met with SDLP Leader Claire Hanna, MP Colum Eastwood, Matthew O'Toole MLA and Justin McNulty MLA, and Councillor Adam Gannon to discuss the three key priorities in our Every Child, Every Chance manifesto:

✅ Transform how government works for children and families
✅ Give every child the best start in life
