Crosslinks in Ireland

🎉 A new church is beginning to meet in Cherrywood, near Dublin!

Simon Donohoe sent us this quick update as Trinity Church Cherrywood — the church he and Abigail have been preparing to plant since early 2025 — begins meeting weekly.

This is a significant milestone for the Donohoes and their launch team, and a real encouragement as they seek to make disciples of Christ in Ireland and see the gospel take root in Cherrywood. 🙏

Cherrywood is the largest residential development ever built in Ireland and there is currently no church of any denomination established in the area.

Praise God for the
- launch of Trinity Church Cherrywood
- team
- the local school to meet in
- doors the Lord has opened already in Cherrywood to build relationships and point people to Jesus

Please pray the
- team would do everything for the glory of Jesus and the eternal good of others
- church would become established as a healthy local church
- Lord would keep the team united in Christ, give them more opportunities to serve people in Cherrywood and make Jesus known in Cherrywood, and send them the people they need to establish the church

Ultimately, please pray that people in Cherrywood would be given new life in Jesus!

Please come along and support Simon and Abigail in prayer.

This is a really big month for our mission partners, Simon and Abigail who are based in Cherrywood, Dublin.

In a couple of weeks' time, they are launching Trinity Church Cherrywood with a small launch team, consisting of four families.

They know a handful of others who are hoping to join the church once it begins and they met some other individuals through their recent mission week who are potentially interested in coming along.

They need our prayers! Join us on Zoom next Monday night to hear more and pray fervently!

We recently gathered for a day’s orientation training with a team that is going to serve some of our mission partners in South Africa.

Alun and Debbie Burt live and work in Heideveld, a community deeply affected by the legacy of Apartheid. Everyone really valued learning more about the church and community at the orientation.

The team, which will fly in July, consists of nine individuals from churches across Diocese of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh and will be led by Christiaan and Karen Snell who have partnered with the Burts for 18 years!

During the trip, the team will serve at St Thomas Church, helping to run a mid-week holiday club and attending Sunday services and midweek groups. They will also spend time observing other ministries in Cape Town and enjoy a day exploring Cape Town.

Please pray for the team as they prepare to travel and support and encourage Alun and Debbie.

Alun serves as rector of St Thomas Church, an Anglican church in Cape Flats, and is keenly involved in evangelism and discipleship, as well as training apprentices for Bible teaching ministry.

Debbie spends most of her time at home with their four children, Likhona, Ilana, Malachi and Timothy. She homeschools Ilana and is involved at St Thomas Church with Sunday School and women’s discipleship.

Crosslinks mission partner, Simon Donohoe, is interviewed on the Gospel books Ireland Podcast.

He talks about his book “Refuge: Meditations for Times of Trouble” and how it was written during the pandemic.

He reflects on how Christians can find refuge in the midst of trouble, whether they are navigating personal loss, global anxiety, or simply the strain of everyday life.

It is a really encouraging and thoughtful interview! Do check it out!
