🗣️AI/Data Centres Public Meeting - Thursday 8th October, 7pm–9pm at An Cultúrlann, Derry, by the moat - save the sperrins

"Come along to learn more about the data centres proposed at Foyle Port and the plans across the North, the wider threats posed by AI, and the NI Executive’s AI Strategy, which is currently open for consultation. We also have a great selection of speakers lined up, with more details to be announced soon.

For this meeting, it felt important to us to commission an artist to design the poster, especially given the impact AI is already having on artists and the wider creative industries. A huge thank you to Boyd Prints for creating such a powerful and thoughtful image. It draws on people’s nostalgia and love for the countryside/nature, setting the warmth of the cottage against the massive, monstrous presence of a huge factory. The contrast of this piece highlights how these developments threaten nature, communities, and the ways of life as we know them.

Hundreds came out on Saturday afternoon at Stormont to demand clean water for Northern Ireland.

Water is life, and we want our nature back.

Families, Lough Neagh residents, fishing communities, swimmers, campaigners, scientists and many more joined together to demand the clean up of our waterways; a strong independent regulator; a stop to factory farmong and significant investment in our sewage infrastructure.

For the third summer in a row, we’ve born witness to toxic blue-green algae ravaging Lough Neagh and our waterways.

With the blooms getting worse each year, we’re joining Save Lough Neagh and countless other campaigners and concerned people to say: no more.

No more distractions.

No more pointing fingers.

No more poisoning our water.

MLA's returned from summer and quickly started focusing on everything but this public health crisis. We need to redirect attention back to what matters:

💩fixing the fallout from their Going for Growth strategy,

💧 the unfit for purpose NI Water,

🚫 the ongoing threats of factory farms and data centres to our waterways.

People of the Lough shore, from Upper Bann to Antrim, are bearing the cost of their inaction, plagued by odours from the toxic algae, wildlife dying in it, and foul drinking water.

We’re inviting people and families of all backgrounds to join swimmers, fishermen, trade unions and more to demand unprecedented action and a drastic change of priorities on the government handling of our environment.

🚨💧 MARCH FOR CLEAN WATER - Stormont!Assemble 2pm Stormont Gates, Sat 26th September.

As toxic algae continues to ravage Lough Neagh and our waterways, politicians responsible for this crisis are attempting to distract and sow sectarian division instead of tackling this public health emergency affecting our DRINKING WATER!

As Stormont returns from the summer, people of the Lough shore, from Upper Bann to Antrim and beyond are being plagued by odours from the toxic algae, wildlife dying in the algae, and foul drinking water.

We won’t let them distract from the problems they created with pollution from their Going For Growth strategy, the unfit for purpose NI Water & the ongoing threats of DATA CENTRES and more FACTORY FARMS to our waterways.

The rally is inviting people and families of all backgrounds to join swimmers, fishermen, trade unions and more to demand unprecedented action and a drastic change of priorities on the government handling of our environment.
