This is a great opportunity to share your talent and expertise to help make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.
As a Board member, you will play a crucial role in the effective governance of the charity. Your responsibilities include ensuring the organisation's viability and sustainability, adhering to its mission, and continuously prioritising the interests of children, young people, and their parents/carers.
Background/experience in one or more of the following relevant areas would be desirable:
Accounting
Human Capital Development/HR
Fundraising
Statutory SEN system in NI
Charity management or governance and/or familiarity of NI SEN Not-For-Profit Infrastructure.
Previous experience as a Management Committee member or Chair would be useful but not essential.

Following on from PICA Awareness Day 2026 this post shared by Pica Awareness Day NI & Ireland is a useful explanation of what PICA is.

💛 Today marks Pica Awareness Day.

Pica is when someone repeatedly eats or tries to eat things that aren’t food. It can affect children for many different reasons and is not simply “bad behaviour”.

Today is about increasing understanding, reducing judgement and helping families feel able to ask for support.

Our infographic explains the signs to look out for, some of the reasons pica can happen and what parents and carers can do to help keep their child safe.

If you are concerned about your child, please speak to your GP or health visitor.
