We are delighted to share that our CEO, Claire Flowers, has just been recognised with a BEM in the King’s Birthday Honours List, for her outstanding services to girls and young women!

For more than 20 years, Claire has championed opportunities for girls and young women across Northern Ireland, working alongside the youth sector, the Education Authority, the Department of Education and fellow uniformed organisations. She has dedicated her career to ensuring that girls and young women have opportunities to find their voice, build confidence and reach their potential.

Alongside this, Claire has been instrumental in establishing Lorne Estate’s outdoor adventure centre, and has overseen its growth into the state-of-the-art facility it is today, enabling thousands of young people to benefit from the power of adventure, challenge and the outdoors.

Claire’s quiet determination, unwavering commitment and genuine belief in the potential of every young person, has been the hallmark of her leadership.

This recognition is so deserved and reflects the impact she has made to the lives of countless girls and young women over the course of her career.

Over 45,000 children and young people can’t be wrong.

Every single week, 45,000+ young people across Northern Ireland choose to be part of one of the 6 uniformed organisations. Why? Because they feel the impact. They find belonging, confidence, skills - and they keep coming back.

Behind every one of those young people is something incredible: over 15,000 dedicated volunteers giving their time, energy and passion. They don’t do it for recognition - they do it because they believe in young people and want to make a real difference in their lives.

This week, we say THANK YOU. To every volunteer in uniformed organisations across Northern Ireland - you are making a lasting impact, every single week.
