That’s just one of the fantastic reviews from our previous BECAUSE training, and we’re delighted to be offering it again!

Delivered by Women’s Aid Federation NI, BECAUSE is a dynamic, engaging one-day CPD-accredited training programme for youth practitioners and those working in post-primary education.

The training will help you:
✅ Understand domestic abuse and its impact on young people
✅ Explore the context of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Northern Ireland

Earlier this week, we were delighted to join the All-Island Women’s Forum as the National Women's Council of Ireland launched its new Strategic Plan 2026–28, An All-Island Vision for Women’s Equality.

It was a really important opportunity to come together and talk about how we can tackle violence against women and girls, support more women into leadership and decision-making, and strengthen collaboration right across the island.

Women’s Aid Federation NI was proud to be part of the panel discussion and to share our perspective on the importance of working together across jurisdictions.

Every woman and girl deserves to live free from violence and to feel safe at home, in their communities and wherever they are.

There is still much to do, but by working together, sharing our expertise and learning from one another, we can help create a safer, more equal island for all women and girls.

BECAUSE - a dynamic, engaging one-day CPD-accredited training programme delivered by Women’s Aid Federation NI (WAFNI), funded by The Executive Office through the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Strategic Framework.

BECAUSE will help you:

Today, Women’s Aid attended and spoke on the Panel at the launch of Phase 2 of Power to Change, the Police Service of Northern Ireland campaign delivered in partnership with The Executive Office and Department of Justice NI.

The campaign challenges the attitudes, behaviours and beliefs that contribute to violence against women and girls.

Phase 2 takes the conversation online, focusing on the spaces where harmful attitudes can be formed, shared and normalised - from social media and group chats to gaming platforms, comment sections and influencer culture.
