For the past 8 years, this vehicle has braved the rough terrain of Tharaka Nithi to reach over 200 families in need. It has faithfully delivered essential gifts and supplies, ensuring these households received timely help when they needed it most.

While it has served us well, the wear and tear of these harsh roads are catching up. To sustain our mission, a newer, more reliable vehicle is urgently needed for our next phase. This upgrade will significantly reduce our recurring maintenance costs and provide the advanced off-road capability required for the season ahead.

Any support you can offer is deeply appreciated 🙏 and will directly restore HOPE to many families who are counting on us.

20 years of the SONshine Club Kenya Project — what a journey, what a blessing, what an adventure.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Celebration Praise Service on 20th September. It was a joy to look back over two decades of God’s faithfulness and the incredible story He has written through this little charity.

We want to thank every single person who has supported us over the years — whether you sponsored a child, donated, purchased water filters, or prayed for us. Each one of you has shaped our story. Because of your kindness, and through our partnership with Assist Denmark, we have been able to help over 700 families, transforming lives and enabling many to become self‑sustainable.

We are deeply grateful. Here’s to the next chapter of SONshine.

Celebrating 20 Years of the SONshine Club — Live Tonight @ 6.00pm

For two decades, the SONshine Club has been a bright thread woven through the life of Glenmachan Church of God — a story of children, compassion, mission, and God’s faithfulness.

The journey began in August 2000, when the church launched a week‑long Bible club filled with games, songs, teaching and an action‑packed programme for primary‑school children. What started as a local summer outreach soon grew into something far deeper.

In 2005, the children were encouraged to look beyond themselves and show love to those who had far less. They began bringing pencils, pens, erasers, sharpeners and other stationery to send to children in Tharaka, Kenya — schools where even the most basic educational supplies were desperately needed. The response was overwhelming.

By February 2006, as volunteers prepared the packages for transport, someone made a passing comment: “Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could go and actually distribute the gifts ourselves?”
A few weeks later, three women were sitting on a plane bound for Kenya — expecting to hand out stationery, take a few photos, and return home. But God had other plans.

What they witnessed first-hand — the poverty, the need, the resilience, the joy — changed everything. That moment became the spark for a mission that has continued to grow, year after year.

Today, the SONshine Club remains committed to its core purpose:

“To assist in the relief of poverty, the furtherance of education and the provision of healthcare and clean safe water, amongst the children in the region of Tharaka, Kenya.”

As we celebrate 20 years of ministry, partnership and God’s provision, tonight’s livestream will look back with gratitude and forward with faith — sharing stories, memories, and the impact of this remarkable journey.
