🧡 Meet Our Teams 🧡

Better late than never, we have our last relay team to introduce - “What’s Up Doc?”. With my dad’s nickname being Doc, this team is another of my contenders for best relay team name 😂.

They’re a great bunch who are kindly taking the time and effort to run with us on Sunday. Their dedication is certainly appreciated!

The Gibson’s in particular have known my family for a long time and are close friends of all of us. Sarah is always keeping dad right up at DRFC, and so it’s really great to see them all taking part 😊

You can show them your support through our Just Giving page, which is linked on our socials 🧡

🧡Walking Wednesdays🧡

I can’t think of a better way to wrap up our last walking Wednesday post than to introduce my auntie Wendy and my best friend Emily. Who have signed themselves up to walk in the marathon with us this Sunday.

Wendy has been very supportive of me and the family throughout organising this project, and I’ve appreciated it more than she knows. You’ll spot both her and her son Blair in their orange on Sunday. It’s amazing to have family on the team!

Emily and I have known each other since primary school, and have stuck with each other ever since. Being the character that she is, she is sure to have everyone laughing their way through their 8 miles.

You can show them and our project your support through our Just Giving link in the bio of our pages.

🧡 Meet the Team Mondays 🧡

Meet our team of “DRFC Over 30s”, although I’m not quite sure why they’re called that…

This young bunch are all loyal DRFC men who have known my dad for a long time, and have stepped up to support him and our family. Zoe is the exception to their team rule. She has kindly filled in for her partner Michael Allen who unfortunately has found himself recently injured and pulled a lucky escape, which is no bad thing because we think this team certainly needed someone to keep them right!

As you can see, even my almost 90 year old grannie’s eye ‘Candy’ Graeme is running with us 😵‍💫.

We and DRFC are super proud to see them taking part! As per, you can show them your support through the Just Giving page linked in our bios.

🧡Full Marathon Fridays🧡

Time to meet our last full marathon runner, my cousin Steffi Warnock.

She has been amazing with trying to help us raise money and awareness so far, as she is doing it not only for The MSA Trust but for her Uncle. 🧡

She is a very impressive woman, and works extremely hard for her goals. This is not her first nor last running event of the year, and we have no doubt she will absolutely smash it!

If you follow her on Strava, then you’ll know her training quite literally never ends! She deserves all the support she gets, you can show her your support through our Just Giving page linked in our bio.

🧡Walking Wednesdays🧡

Meet our Full Circle Management Solutions walking team!

I am currently completing my placement year with Full Circle, and they truly are a great bunch of people to be working alongside.

As you can see, they are extremely supportive of this project and I am very grateful to have them on our team.

You can show them and our project your support through the Just Giving link in the bio of our page.

🧡 Meet the Team Mondays 🧡

Meet our relay team the “Run Flats”, made up of three DRFC 1XV players and the lovely Jade and Sophie.

Aaron (AKA Sedgie), Matty and Josh have known and loved my dad for many years, and it’s not their first time helping to raise money and awareness in support of him. Matty and Josh both ran legs of the Belfast Marathon in the past to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, when dad was originally diagnosed. All three men then went on to do the 7 peaks challenge, where they and other DRFC players raised over £6,000 for Parkinson’s UK. After all these years and a new diagnosis, they are still showing up to support my dad and it’s truly amazing to see!

Jade is a fellow Dromore AC runner and friend of my mum, who is making it back from her honeymoon just in time to join us for the marathon! Come the marathon, it’ll be Jade Graham running with us - special congrats to her!

Last but not least, Miss Sophie Todd - my dad’s partner in crime at the DRFC bar. She’s not exactly a fan of the running but is a fan of my dad and so she signed up anyway!

They’re a team of really great people, so please show them your support through the Just Giving page in our bio.

🧡 Meet the Team Mondays 🧡

Meet this lovely team made up of Dromore Athletics Club ladies (or divas as some may say), who are kindly supporting my mum and dad by running legs of the marathon with us.

Despite having a few injuries popping up over this year, Pauline is doing her bit to run a leg anyway as she has known my dad since he was a fresh faced 17 year old.

The urban dictionary says a diva is “a woman with an attitude who needs to get what she wants”, which makes sense because what they want is a good time in the marathon…and after💃.

As they should👏🏼

They’re certainly a team to be reckoned with. So please show them your support through our link in the bio.

🧡Full Marathon Fridays🧡

Meet Dave Pyper, one of my brother’s life long friends who is running the full marathon with us in 16 days time.

My dad has watched Dave grow up since primary school and it’s amazing to see him taking part for my dad. Dave is an extremely inspirational guy who despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis is more active than ever! He has shown resilience like not many others could and we are super proud to have him on our team.

He has been training very hard and deserves all the support he gets, you can show him and our project your support through the Just Giving page in our bio.

🧡 Meet the Team Mondays 🧡

The family trio you didn’t know you needed… The Ruts!

This lovely group of guys will be running the relay with us in three weeks time. They’re a valued family within Dromore RFC, with Andrew and James both being players and Brian always on the sidelines cheering them on! Andrew even captained the DRFC 1XV side to a Junior Cup win last month.

They’re extremely kind to be taking part, so please show them your support through our Just Giving link in the bio of our socials.

🧡 Meet the Team Mondays 🧡

It’s time to introduce the last of our two person relay teams, made up by Zara Greenfield and Andrew Graham.

Andrew (AKA Junior) has known my dad through Dromore RFC for many years, and was one of the first people to sign up for running with us. He even thought that one leg wasn’t enough and chose to do three instead!

Zara is a life long friend of mine, dad has seen us grow up together since we were 4. He has supported us from the hockey sidelines, laughed alongside us and even climbed a mountain or two with us. Therefore, Zara signed up to take on not just one but two legs of the marathon.

🧡Full Marathon Fridays🧡

Time to meet Antoine Hirschland, one of my colleagues at Full Circle Management Solutions.

Despite not knowing me long, he has decided to run the full marathon with us. His talents stretch much further than just Excel spreadsheets and business consulting. He is a keen hockey player and runner, who once ran a marathon around Belfast just because he could 😮‍💨. At least this time he’ll get a medal and a bright orange top for his efforts!

Big thanks to Antoine and Full Circle for all their support in this project!
