🩶 Silver 🩶

What an amazing achievement by our patrol, achieving Silver Standard at this year's Phoenix Challenge! A dedicated patrol who represented 10th Antrim brilliantly on the national stage, the whole leader team, across all sections, are so proud of them.

A special word about our PL, Kate and our APL, Eoin, who move from the Scout section up to the Venture section. They led the patrol (and indeed the whole section) with conviction and integrity. Excellent role models to our Scouts who will be missed!

Our Scout section have now officially finished their Summer activities. Time for a break for the leaders, before starting back with our first meeting - in 19 days!

Our Scouts have just finished their final preparations complete for the Phoenix Challenge this afternoon.

Tomorrow evening they'll get the van packed before heading down to Castle Saunderson when the competition will get underway.

Lots of work over the summer, they're now excited to just get started!

Our Scout Summer Camp finished up with our campfire on Tuesday night. Yesterday morning, our Scouts rallied themselves to break camp and carry out a sweep of Collon Scout Camp, leaving no trace of their presence!

After a short drive, our exhausted Scouts (and leaders) arrived back at the den yesterday afternoon to get all the equipment packed away. A wonderful time, packed full of activities, testament to the hard work Connor put in to organise the camp!

10th Antrim aren't finished for the Summer though. This Sunday, our Ventures are heading off to Wexford for their Summer Camp!

In the meantime, some of our Scouts will be meeting to prepare for the Phoenix Challenge, before heading down to Castle Saunderson in a couple of weeks to compete.

🌞 Summer Camp Days 4 and 5 🌞

Yesterday morning, the Scouts were up early, making up some pancake batter, before frying them up on the fire. Camp-made chocolate chip pancakes - no better way to start the day!

Breakfast was followed by another round-table for our Traitors competition, where the faithful finally managed to banish one of the traitors!

We then hit the road and made our way to Emerald Park in County Meath. The day was spent on and off all the rides, with just a few screams along the way! Our traitors even managed to carry out a murder in plain sight, as a peg was attached to the back of someone's scarf!

Back to the campsite and the Scouts got the fires lit to rustle up a tasty chilli con carne for dinner. Afterwards, they built a volleyball net for an inter-patrol and leader competition. There were some fierce competitors out there, but needless to say, the leaders emerged victorious!

Today was spent at Navan Adventure Centre, with archery, laser tag, obstacle courses and many other great activities on our final full day. Dinner was a barbecue, served up to the Scouts by the leaders.

Tonight, as is tradition, we will have our final campfire. A new element, for this year only, will be the culmination of our Traitors competition, as the remaining contestants try and emerge victorious!

We'll be continuing a number of traditions tonight, including announcing Scout of the Year and formally saying goodbye to our Scouts moving to the Venture section. Our jar of campfire ash will be added to the fire, before being refilled at the end, adding to the many campfires of 10th Antrim over the years.

It promises to be a fitting end to a wonderful camp!

☀️ Days Two and Three of Summer Camp ☀️

Yesterday, Wolf Patrol spent the morning at the Boyne Valley Visitor Centre, whilst Eagle Patrol spent the morning on the actual Boyne itself.

After cooking sausages by the riverside for lunch, the patrols then swapped activities this afternoon.

A trip to the leisure centre for a swim was followed by Bolognese (again cooked on the open fire from scratch) for dinner. A treasure hunt for coins around the campsite resulted in a victorious Wolf Patrol gaining immunity from being killed by the Traitors.

Today was spent at Flynn Park in Balbriggan. High ropes course, zip line and a leap of faith in the morning. After lunch, they headed on to the water for the Aqua Park (a couple of videos to follow).

Dinner on site was fajitas (with freshly made guacamole and Pico de Gallo) as well as each patrol making a banoffee (check out the photos!)

All the while, our Traitors game has been ongoing. We started with 14, between banishments and murders, we're down to 8 remaining participants. No traitors have been caught yet!

Tomorrow we head off to Emerald Park for some thrills! Scouts all in great form, particularly with a couple of birthdays celebrated on camp so far.

☀️ Scout Summer Camp 2026 ☀️

Day One of our Summer Camp is coming to an end. We arrived down at Collon Campsite, in County Louth, early this morning, with the Scouts getting stuck in straight away setting up their sites. Tents all pitched, chopping areas ready and flagpole set up.

The Scouts then got the fires lit and the kettle on. Busy in their dining shelters, prepping ingredients from scratch, spices all mixed, the patrols then soon served up some delicious chicken and pineapple curry!

After dinner, we started the main activity which will weave it's way through our camp: The Traitors! Challenges every night for the patrols and soon the murders and banishments will begin...

The Scouts have just been playing cards in their dining shelter, but now getting ready for bed. It'll be up early tomorrow morning for breakfast, before heading off for kayaking. 🚣

A successful first day with more to come!
