Cub Scouts ⚜️

We are having a wonderful weekend at our first camp of the year in Ballyhornan 🏕️

A fantastic hike this morning followed by some more badge work and we finished off with the Investiture of our new Cub Scouts, officially welcoming them into 10th Antrim.

Congratulations and welcome to 10th Antrim Scout Group 👏

The second day of our Scouts' camp is coming to a close. A quick breakfast for the Scouts was followed by the train journey from Helen's Bay to Moira,
🚂🥣
The Scouts got stuck in to loads of activities. Axe throwing, laser tag and pier jumping, to name but a few. It was a hectic morning and afternoon, followed by the train back out towards Crawfordsburn.
🪓🌊
Pizza for dinner and now a campfire. A first campfire for many of our Scouts, a special experience!
🍕🔥
Tomorrow morning will be an early start to break camp before heading home.

As you can see from the previous post, the whole of 10th Antrim turned out in force for the Big Day Out, with over 50 Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and Scouters. What a super way to kickstart the Scouting year!

This weekend, our Scouts are camping in Crawfordsburn, the first camp of the new Scouting year.
🏕️
We are so excited to have 24 Scouts away with us, the largest group we've had away in a few years. The Scouts pitched their tents on arrival before an evening of games. It'll be supper time soon and then resting up before a busy day tomorrow.
⚜️
The Scouts will be heading by train, all the way to Moira, to attend the Down and Connor Big Day Out, along with our Cubs and Ventures.

Everyone is in great form, what a fantastic way to finish a first ever month's Scouting for some of our new recruits!

🩶 Silver 🩶

What an amazing achievement by our patrol, achieving Silver Standard at this year's Phoenix Challenge! A dedicated patrol who represented 10th Antrim brilliantly on the national stage, the whole leader team, across all sections, are so proud of them.

A special word about our PL, Kate and our APL, Eoin, who move from the Scout section up to the Venture section. They led the patrol (and indeed the whole section) with conviction and integrity. Excellent role models to our Scouts who will be missed!

Our Scout section have now officially finished their Summer activities. Time for a break for the leaders, before starting back with our first meeting - in 19 days!

Our Scouts have just finished their final preparations complete for the Phoenix Challenge this afternoon.

Tomorrow evening they'll get the van packed before heading down to Castle Saunderson when the competition will get underway.

Our Scout Summer Camp finished up with our campfire on Tuesday night. Yesterday morning, our Scouts rallied themselves to break camp and carry out a sweep of Collon Scout Camp, leaving no trace of their presence!
🏕️🔥
After a short drive, our exhausted Scouts (and leaders) arrived back at the den yesterday afternoon to get all the equipment packed away. A wonderful time, packed full of activities, testament to the hard work Connor put in to organise the camp!

10th Antrim aren't finished for the Summer though. This Sunday, our Ventures are heading off to Wexford for their Summer Camp!

In the meantime, some of our Scouts will be meeting to prepare for the Phoenix Challenge, before heading down to Castle Saunderson in a couple of weeks to compete.
🐦‍🔥
The Summer may stop school, but it doesn't stop us!
