๐Ÿ“ข Take a look at whatโ€™s happening at our 40 Reasons Why Employment Conference!

Join Disability Action on Wednesday 21 October at the Hilton Hotel Belfast for 40 Reasons Why โ€“ an employer-focused conference making the case for disabled talent and turning inclusion into practical action.

Throughout the day, speakers, employers and delegates will explore the barriers disabled people continue to face in employment, the value of disability-inclusive workplaces, and practical approaches to recruitment, workplace adjustments, retention and progression.

And at the heart of the conference is our 40 Reasons Challenge. Weโ€™ll be asking delegates to share their reasons why employers should recruit, retain and progress disabled people, bringing them together to create a collective case for inclusive employment.

Explore the images below to see whatโ€™s planned throughout the day.

Could you provide a safe and nurturing foster home for a child with a disability?

HSC NI Foster Care are looking for compassionate and open-minded people to start their fostering journey.

Fostering a child with a disability offers the chance to make a real difference, providing a safe, loving home where a child can grow and thrive. Itโ€™s also a deeply rewarding experience, helping children reach their potential while bringing a strong sense of purpose and fulfilment.

There are flexible ways to help depending on your lifestyle and family circumstances as not all foster care requires a full-time commitment.

Foster carers receive specialist training, 24/7 support and financial allowances

Find out how you can give a child a brighter future.

Call HSC NI Foster Care on 0800 0720 137 or visit adoptionandfostercare.hscni.net

We recently enjoyed a series of three visits to Elm Court, bringing residents together for conversation, creativity and connection.

Across the visits, residents got involved in arts and crafts, including drawing and painting, while enjoying the opportunity to chat, spend time together and connect with others.

We also shared information about the support available through Disability Action, including accessible transport, benefits advice, advocacy and our ONSIDE programme.

ONSIDE aims to reduce social isolation and digital exclusion by helping disabled people and carers build digital skills, make connections and become more involved in their communities.

A big thank you to everyone at Elm Court who joined us across the three visits!
